You need to eat at The White Horse pub. Yes. If you are going to Orcas Island, you need to stop here for a meal or a drink. June 2025, on the island 3 nights, so far 2 meals at the White Horse. Chicken pot pie, fish and chips, Irish stew, bacon cheeseburger, fries, onion rings, salad. Could not have asked for better. Two different waiters. Both raised the bar on my standards. One more day on Orcas. One more meal at the White Horse. Did I mention the view?

Avoid. The WHP delivered average food with an attitude. We moved tables as our initial seating was under an A/C vent which was met with some minor condescension. We had been out exploring all day and then received the eyeroll-rebuff when not ordering drinks. And finally, despite a clear conversation about a spice allergy and aversion to peppery dishes … we received a salad piled high with peperoncinos. The waitstaff was put off through our entire visit. Like I said, avoid.

What a view! The food was solid Irish pub fare (we had the fish and chips and a salad) and the Guinness was poured to perfection. I sadly have forgotten our bartenders name, but he had a great sense of humor and made us feel welcome straight away. We also had fun playing the games set out by the bar near the window. A great way to kick off our trip to Orcas Island

Such a fun place with good food! We got the calamari, I got the crab melt, clam chowder and husband got the chicken pot pie. All the food was very delicious! I really loved the calamari! My husband also got the cream soda and loved it! Our server was super friendly - he called everyone “friend” and answered my silly questions about whales. It was a great experience and we even saw a sea lion! This place also accommodates larger groups! There was a group of 12 also in the restaurant. Not too loud!!

I got the crispy chicken on the Greek salad and it was really good. The calamari was some of the best I’ve had in a minute. Solid spot to stop in Eastsound especially if it’s a cloudy/rainy day

White Horse is a solid dining option on the island. Our server was super friendly and helpful, and the overall atmosphere was very chill when we went in. Our drinks came out quick and were delicious, my Mango Tango Mule was well made. The food is great as well, it also arrived quick and was a perfect portion size for the price. The shepherds pie especially was very good. Music wasn't too loud to enjoy conversation, the place is interestingly decorated and has a very welcoming vibe overall. Definitely recommend for anyone visiting the San Juans!

What a view! We sat at a bar facing the view and watched ducks bobbing for their own lunch. It was very fun. Had potato skins, grilled cheese and tomato soup that was fantastic!

This is a place for good pub fair and a rowdy group on a weekend. Karaoke was a ball. Lower (different tavern in town) says it has a Best Burger in Town, but the Lower doesn't have Dubliner cheese, so it's obviously lying. I still love the Lower, just think their burger names are bullshit. Also the view here kills.
