Black Bear Diner Federal Way

My to go order was messed up by a new server and they resubmitted as a rush order that took 30min. I had to go ask them for my order, otherwise it might have taken longer. Also, there were no plastic utensils. Note that I was in a rush and hoped to be on the road sooner than later.

Charming restaurant with great service. Food was very good with very generous portions. Definitely be taking a extras home for an additional meal.

We had to wait about 45 minutes for a table, but we expected that and it probably would have been the same anywhere in the area at that time of morning on a weekend. They have delicious breakfast options (SO many options) with large portions for a good price. Service was fantastic, even when they were so busy. They accidentally marked us down for 2 instead of 4, but the manager and hostess got together and grabbed us the next table that was big enough. Honest mistake and they resolved it well. I'm not usually crazy about breakfast diners like this, and I only went because I was with a group. I was very impressed with the entire experience, and would definitely choose to come back here on my own volition.

SERIOUSLY AVOID: Disgusting, BROWN ROTTEN avocado, barely one slice of avocado.

If you've had black bear hollandaise sauce ACROSS ALL THE LOCATIONS before, DO NOT EXPECT THE SAME THING HERE.

Overcharged $6.08, even after told was not going to be charged the $6.08.

$50 in total for NASTY YELLOW GLOP, THAT MIGHT HAVE BEEN MAYO OR GLUE WITH MAYBE ONE EGG YOLK IN IT.

DID NOT CHANGE CONSISTENCY FROM OF GLUE GLOP, EVEN AFTER WARMING UP.

DISGUSTING. NOT WORTH IT EVEN FOR $5.

We have been to the Diner many times with great service and food. Well today the kitchen didn’t want to work.
I got the NY steak and eggs. Which is what I normally get. The steak was small and the eggs were greasy and had at least 2 cups of onions, hash-browns had a bad taste. Before and after pictures. Hopefully next time will be better.

This place isn't the latest, greatest end-all-be-all for American diners, but it is consistent, with friendly staff, and an expansive menu. I've never had a bad meal here. It's a family friendly spot with plenty of seating.

Where do I start. Order the country if steak with well done hash browns. What I received was Shredded uncooked potatoes on a plate. Once I received them back I got french fries in the guys of hashbrowns. I ordered over easy eggs and got watered down something I would not call a egg. The Country fried steak was overcooked And gravy was flavorless. My brother ordered the exact same thing and found a hair in his eggs. About the only redeeming thing is the corn bread and that is even being polite. Over all I will not be back. Or recommend.
