I love this place but wasn't impressed with my food. The coconut fish had no flavor and nyama choma very tough.When we told the server about the food he flatly mentioned that we were the only customers to complain about food and others were happy:(
The food was good. I ordered spinach, beef, and porridge mixed with beans. I really loved the porridge and the spinach — both were excellent. The beef was just okay, but I understand the kitchen was probably about to close. Service was good and friendly, and the atmosphere feels safe. As an Alaska businessman, I think the place could use some remodeling, but overall it was a solid experience and I’d come back for the food.
The samosas were incredible — I don’t know where they get these peppers from, but it works. We also had choma — both beef and lamb — with onions, seasoned so well it’s like love on a bone.
We also had sukuma wiki, the Kenyan kale dish, along with the Ugali. Add to that the character of the place: the cleanliness, the service, the kindness, the professionalism, the music.
