Great source for raw milk, organic farm eggs, Manuka honey, vitamins, fresh vegetables and kombucha. Great service every time.
Love love love this outfit. When I don’t shop Costco for large quantity and great prices … and I don’t like the high prices of Metro Market … , I shop Marlene’s for organic produce, grains and breads at very reasonable prices. I just discovered they have a Tacoma store and cannot wait to check it out.
This store is one of my favorite WA State places to get organic produce. James provided me with good customer service. Nice person.
Very friendly staff - the milk and raw honey is great from here!
They'll have what you need for natural foods. Friendly people and the best vibe, especially at Christmastime. I love their upstairs deli, where I often order the daily soup, a hot caprese sandwich, wheat grass shot, and a drink and dessert to go from the nearby fridges on the right. The best!
Great deli options! Spendy but a nice treat once in a while. Lots of good options for the supermarket
This place is great but a little pricey. I will say you get what you pay for and this place is a date for me and my fiancée
Marlene's Market & Deli is awesome they have stuff you might be looking for and the people working there know lots about it.
Today, November 15, 2024 I went to Marlene's Market in Federal Way. I went there specifically looking for a vegetable called "BURDOCK ROOT". I never heard of this vegetable before. As soon as I entered the door an amazing employee by the name of Pamela spotted me before I even entered the store with this "BIG MILLION DOLLAR SMILE" that was out of this world. She kept her eyes on me until I finally reached the front counter. As soon as I get there she says:"HI, HOW MAY I HELP YOU". I in return responded back by saying: "I HAVE 2 QUESTIONS. DO YOU WANT THE HARD OR EASY QUESTION 1ST". She sat there and thought about the question and then responded back by saying: "I'LL TAKE HARDEST QUESTION 1ST". I then said: "THERE WASN'T A HARD OR EASY QUESTION. I WAS JUST MESSING WITH YOUR HEAD" (jokingly to get a reaction out of her). I went on and asked her does Marlene sell burdock root and had she ever heard of burdock root because I never heard of it before. She knew exactly what I was talking about. She walked me right over to exactly where it was in the produce section and showed me exactly what it looked like. She even went as far as to explain all the health benefits to taking burdock roots, how to prep before eating it and also why I should purchase my the burdock root from Marlene's because all their fruits and vegetable where organic and she also mentioned that if store owner Marlene was there she would say to me: "IT'S BETTER TO PAY AT THE FARM THAN THE PHARMACY" in reference to how expensive it was but how much more healthier it was. I responded back by sayin: "I KNEW IT WAS GOING TO BE EXPENSIVE HERE BUT I ALSO KNEW I WOULD BE GETTING THE BEST PRODUCT FROM HERE BECAUSE MY HEALTH IS IMPORTANT TO ME". Long story short, she has a "VERY NICE, WARM & PLEASANT ATTITUDE" when it comes to employees/customer relationships. Her personality really caught my attention to the point that after I got into my car and ready to leave, I turned my car off and went back all the way into the store to ask her her name. Again, she caught eyes on me before I stepped foot into the store. I went up to her and asked her for her name. She replied back instantly by showing me her name tag as well as telling me her name verbally. I then responded and told her the reason I came back in which was to get her name because I was going to do a review about her personality and how much her personality caught my attention. She was so shocked at what I said you could tell how much what I said really meant to her. She even replied back by saying: "YOU JUST MADE MY DAY". Her comment along made my day as well. If you want the best or healthiest fruit or vegetables on top of "GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE". I would highly recommend going to Marlene's Market. Thanks Pamela, I will definitely be coming back and more for that "BIG OOOH MILLION DOLLAR SMILE & PERSONALITY OF YOURS" Again, THANKS 😃 😊 😀
So many uniquely perfect items here, thank you Marlene’s

I recently visited Marlene’s Cafeteria in Federal Way and noticed a concerning incident. As a pet owner myself, I completely understand the love for animals, but there’s a line when it comes to food safety. I watched as an employee came from behind the counters, hugged and petted a customer’s dog, then returned to work without washing their hands—something clearly against food safety regulations (Washington Administrative Code 246-215-06570), which states that employees must not have contact with dogs, even service animals, and must wash hands after any incidental contact.
While I understand the affection, the priority has to be maintaining proper hygiene around food. This lapse was off-putting and raised concerns about cleanliness and practices at the cafeteria.
That being said, I’ve been visiting Marlene’s regularly, and up until this, I’ve had good experiences, with friendly staff and no noticeable issues. It’s just disappointing to see something like this happen when the overall vibe has been so positive.
Food service workers should know better. Maintaining proper hygiene is crucial, especially in the current health climate. I hope the management addresses this issue and provides better training for their staff to ensure that food handling safety is a top priority.
Good Organic Foods, an Immense amount of choices!!
Great finds, for rare supplements
We discovered Marlene's market in Federal Way years ago at their prior location. Though we have never lived close by, it is a regular stop whenever we go by on the freeway, since it so close and accessible. A wonderful natural food store with a great selection. The deli and coffee shop upstairs has a great salad bar, fresh pre-made sandwiches and many more options for omnivores, vegans, those who are gluten free. There is a section that carries many fair trade and local products. A fun store to explore, grab a bite and some coffee for there or to go or for everyday grocery shopping. Locally owned and operated with a friendly, helpful staff.
Love there food.
