Taqueria El Cinco de Mayo Food Truck #5

Thought we tried this place just for fun and we weren’t disappointed. Everything was delicious and fresh and the refried beans were the best I’ve ever had.

Seattle is no San Diego, clearly. Getting decent Mexican food is a tough one, as most people have low standards as they don't know a truly good taco if it bit them on the backside. For better or worse, I grew up in SoCal, and killer taco action is like shooting fish tacos in a barrel. So finding truly good, or even great, tacos up here is a rarity.

Enter this truck, painted brightly like the Michoacán neighborhood I once lived in. The true test for me is always the basics - give me a carne asada taco and a pollo taco. And boy, did they deliver. I'm still tasting the meat after I finished, and it was seasoned, great, and the other true test answer to the question "will you come back?" I will reply "oh hell yes". And this was a thursday at noon in the backwaters of federal way no less! Bring it on! I shall return!

The meat was very salty and the meat was not fresh, bad for them.

We love having good Mexican food so nearby. A little pricier than we figured it would be...but that's the way it goes these days.

The food was over priced, portioned small, she forgot to charge me for sour cream and guac even though I asked for it specifically. And to top it off the meat definitely didn't look like chicken maybe chicken in a can or something but not worth it! I would have been better off eating at Taco bell and that's not even real beef .

Fresh fresh fresh! This is the best and most authentic Mexican food around! The birria is to die for. We love all the fresh vegetables. The owners are extremely friendly and helpful if you have any questions about the menu.

Finally stopped by for a burrito. Solid but not overpowering flavor, evenly balanced rice / meat in the ample carnitas burrito along with friendly, quick service at a reasonable price to value ratio. They’re in the same ballpark with my all time fave food truck in Chelan. Worth noting that the picnic tables in the former enviro-pump shack are spotless.Happy to have an option for a good burrito close to home. Will be back.
