Good food. Small portions other than the kids spaghetti, which was a little on the too soft side.

Bonus was the Tesla charger which worked well, at 30-35mph.

This and the charger at Greenbank Farm were the only two I saw on the island, other than a couple Blinks that were full and two hotel chargers that were only for guests, those 4 being in Langley.

The food was of superb quality, the wine was excellent. Great conversation with the owner..super friendly. It's a bit pricey but worth the very penny. Thanks for the warm welcome and great food!

I wish I could give this place a better rating. Our party of two showed up without a reservation and we would have been fine with being turned away. (We were prepared for this given the lack of planning on our part.) However, they instead offered us seating outside and promptly forgot about us. We ended up leaving after 15 minutes. Fortunately, the short drive to Langley ended up being better.

Blooms and Leo & Leto are the same place. We went specifically for the wine tasting. When we arrived we were told that kitchens had closed between lunch and dinner, which was fine, but were then told that we couldn't bring our own snacks.
The wine was decent. They had a variety of options for tasting.

Excellent food and drinks. Service personable and attentive. We had a great dinner there tonight - crab cakes, caesar salad with salmon, watermelon salad that was amazing, risotto and short rib. Then chicolate.mouse and cheesecake. All yummy

Don't often go 5 stars on a restaurant but couldn't find anything to complain about in any of the 3 categories. We were anxious to explore the changes by the new owner. Happy to say, Leo is adding his own touch to the menu with some new options but maintaining Blooms characteristic "Whidbey Formal" ambience and service.Highly recommend the Red Snapper with a sesame sauce. And, of course, Blooms award winning wine choices complement any of the meals you choose. In the buzz saw community of Whidbey restaurants, Blooms quietly and consistently goes about exceeding our expectations.

Pretty disappointing lunch experience. The Ceasar salad though fresh barely tasted like a ceasar lacking the zest normally associated with a good ceasar. The potatoes as a side were undercooked and hard. We were the only ones dining at the time so it was not for a good reason that our lunches were brought well before we were close to being finished with our salads. We had gyros and salads for two, no drinks and one desert which was excellent ( chocolate decadence tort). Our bill was nearly $100 before tip. I had just met the chef's parents from out of state days prior - They bragged that their son is a great chef. I understand parents' pride in their children but it just went to multiply our disappointment in the quality. Our waitress was joyfully and attentive. So maybe she is unaware of timing the firing of an entre order or the chef rushed it. I don't recommend this restaurant if you are looking for something above average.

Our waiter was very attentive and the service was fast. We had the mussels and farm fresh burger which we would definitely come back for. Live music on Saturdays, unfortunately we left before the show started but could tell it was going to get busy as we were headed out. Will be back for sure the next time we are in town.

Nice bistro and winery in Freeland, Whidbey Island,Washington State. Stopped by for lunch. There is a smallish menu selection for lunch, including vegetarian options, offering a tapas style menu. The olives, mussels and house-smoked salmon are delicious and I would recommend these. There are a couple of salads on the menu too. We had a slight problem with our salads but the staff handled it well and therefore I am not taking any stars off. There was not a huge amount of flexibility to adapt the menu for food intolerances but all ingredients are listed on the menu. There is a wine tasting selection too - we had the White Flight which has tastings of 4 white wines and was also good. Large deck at the back of the restaurant which is lovely but we had to change to indoors due to wasps.

Vegetarian options: Several vegetarian options available on the menu including salads.

Parking: About 20 car parking spaces near the front entrance.

Wheelchair accessibility: Not wheelchair accessible - stairs to front entrance. Level throughout once up the stairs, with good amount of space between tables and in the toilets for manoeuvring. Standard height toilets.

Dietary restrictions: GF options available.Difficult for low FODMAP vegetarians - not much flexibility for menu adaptation. There is a house salad (which you can have without the onion/tomato/cucumber topping combo, leaving just leaves) and some lovely olives.
