Freeland Cafe is the best restaurant in town. The owners Deb and Jeff have made Freeland Cafe into one of the most delicious restaurants on Whidbey Island and have employees who go above and beyond to make every visit unforgettable.
Lovely place. My fam & I met Deb the owner and she was the sweetest small biz owner we have ever come across- personable and catered to my mom’s gf requests. She made us feel like we were old friends.
We were visiting from Texas and had a memorable time here. The baked oatmeal is to die for! The salads were fresh and crisp. So glad we stopped here on a whim before heading back to our air b n b. Will be back next time we visit Whidbey!

We got there as they were switching from their sandwich menu to Mexican. The food was pleasant but did not seem terribly authentic (e.g. chimichanga was soft, not fried). The place hit the spot for us in a town that doesn't have a lot of choices for a casual meal.
Vegetarian options: Cheese quesadillas.
Kid-friendliness: Kids are welcome. Owner and server are both geandparents.
