The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming! I loved the snapper sandwich and lemon drop. The Buddha bowl was delicious, too. A perfect place to end our day on the island, with a really great view. We brought our dog with us and all sat out on the patio watching the boats. Isaiah was attentive and considerate. He asked if we wanted to hear the specials and he mentioned the meal prices, too. Perfect day on San Juan!
I really left disappointed... I had heard great things about Downriggers, was excited to eat there while on the island. Made reservations, that didn't seem to matter. Arrived 15 minutes early, the hostesses were not friendly or engaging. Was seated 25 minutes later than my reservation. Found their craft cocktails amazing. Friends had been raving about the scallops and gnocchi, so had to order it! The flavor was amazing, but for market price, to only receive 2 large...
For a touristy spot, the food was better than I anticipated. The view was so good, it made up for whatever shortfalls of the food. Now don’t get me wrong, we were happy and satisfied with the food, but it wasn’t the kind of meal you’d tell people about and dream about for weeks after. Sitting and looking out over the harbor though? Priceless.
