The positive: great atmosphere, fantastic service and well thought out wine list. The negative: our 5 entree's were all OK, not great. It's not that it might have been an off night (and I think it may have been partly that) it's more of a problem with the quality, portions, ingredients and how the chef implemented what could have been quite lovely. For the prices we paid i honestly felt taken advantage of. I hope the owners read reviews and take us seriously, we would hate to loose one of the few unique Island gems on the island.

Really lovely restaurant between Roche and Friday Harbors. We were set by a roaring fire and they were playing Brighteyes songs in the background. Wonderful food and wine and service.

We read some reviews before we go as I always do and we arrived and I cannot understand what some of the negative reviews are.Not only is this little place tucked away in the woods, it makes it seem like you’re entering a magical place. The entire experience was great, the atmosphere was just right. The bustle of the restaurant made the island seem alive even though it was very quiet the weekend we went. I was happy with everything. Our server was great, the food was great, and the drinks were just right. The place was clean and well kept. I’m happy we went to this little gem. We will return every time we come to the island! We were so happy to have stopped by, thanks for being open in the winter, It was a lovely experience.Parking: Parking was easy, plenty of space

Really great dinner on the Island and service. I believe it was all locally sourced food. Portions are great too. Sunday night they had brisket. We were hesitant to try as we are from TX but glad we did. I had the salmon and it was so fresh and perfectly cooked. PS burrata and pear salad

You’re paying for the atmosphere, because it definitely can’t be the food. The restaurant is really beautiful with various seating options on a patio and inside. Service was good, no issues there.I had really high expectations but was sorely disappointed by the food. I ordered the salmon, mussels, and crème brûlée. There was very little flavour and no seasonings. Only positive was the crème brûlée.The one time I wish a restaurant’s portion sizes were smaller, because I had a lot leftover that unfortunately went to waste.

The service from the “ sommelier” or whoever is the wine picker was awful to my group. We were enjoying food, drinks and atmosphere but when she came over to give us wine recommendations we were met with distain and beyond rudeness for no apparent reason. Enjoy the food and atmosphere…. Avoid that horrible wine woman.

Unfortunately I can only give 2 stars. I debated writing this review but felt it’s important for the Ducksoup owners to know. I had my wedding day dinner here with 20 family members, myself and husband total (22 people). The food and atmosphere at the restaurant are both amazing. My complaint is about the manager Annalise. A few things.. one I was assured that the back patio could accommodate 25 people max and that my party would have the entire patio to ourselves. That was not true. My wedding guests were crammed at 2 tables and the restaurant sat other people outside on the patio. Second two hours before my wedding ceremony Annalise called me to tell me that my flowers and cake have not yet been delivered and in the past caterers have altogether forgotten to drop off those items. I checked in with my Florist who, indeed dropped off the flowers 30mins prior to the call and insured that my cake and flowers were in the walk-in fridge. It’s strange to me that the manager would not check the fridge for flowers/cake before calling and scaring a bride on her wedding day. Third when I arrived to dinner after my wedding Annalise bombarded myself and my sister, stating no one had told her what appetizer or drinks to put on the table so she had nothing prepared. This is just not true. And if it were, I’m not sure why she didn’t confirm with me earlier in the day when she scared me about my flowers and cake not being delivered. Sort of strange. Overall Annalise was condescending, entitled, and very unkind. Again ducksoup has amazing food/atmosphere. Just unfortunate to have a manager like her. I would not recommend having a special event dinner here if she is the manager.

Food, service, atmosphere everything was perfect. One of the best dining experiences in the state. The restaurant has a close to forest feel and is set up beautifully. We were seated by the door to the outdoor area and had spiders close to us. Thankfully they were not interested in us or our food. Tables in the main dining space would have been better.

Such a disappointing meal! I have eaten there many times (used to have a home on the San Juan Islands). Went with a group of friends - we had a reservation and were seated on time. First problem was that we sat for an hour and 20 minutes before our food began to arrive. No one's food arrived at the same time. Most of us ordered duck and it arrived in a bowl (difficult to cut) with a lot of tasteless polenta (at least we thought that what it was). Most of all, the wait staff was not friendly, or attentive. They basically took our order (when we were seated) and just put the food down and then were not seen again. It was a late dinner (7:30) and the restaurant was not full at the time so service was definitely lacking. I had recommended this restaurant to our group and it was the worst meal and service we had while visiting the Island. I would not recommend this restaurant to others.
