Excellent burgers. Wait sucks during dinner rush. Terrible. Wife said it was the best burger she ever had. I was happy they had an unusual vegan option....potatoe patty. Essentially a big deep friend froech fry.
1st time here. I had the potato burger and it was out of this world!!!! My family had an assortment of the other burgers and no one was unhappy. We will be going back.

Good food great milkshakes . Wish it was a little bigger, thought we were going to have to get food to go but a table open up and we were able to eat there
The experience is lovely and their burgers are also good
It lives up to its name. Great hamburgers and service. There are only 3 tables inside.
Incredible double cheese burger I had. Super friendly staff! I’d come back

Great burgers and the fries are insanely good!
Best Swiss Mushroom Burger in the region! Worth it!
Amazing food! Their fries are some of the best I have ever had!
Good amount of options burger wise.
Good quality ingredients for sure.
And as far as beverages go they have self dispensed water and a couple coolers filled with craft sodas available.
Wait time seemed a bit long for only a couple small groups that came in at different times, but I'd say it was worth the wait!
The burgers and all the food were extremely good I kind of wish they had some bigger fries but this place is highly recommended I would definitely be going back time and time again

So disappointed in our first visit last night. The fries were so limpy and greasy, we couldn’t eat them, threw them away. The burger was dry & had no taste, the bun tasted stale & not toasted. Didn’t finish burger. My friend had problems with her digestion the next morning….ugg! Will definitely not be returning.

Delicious burger, and super yummy BBQ potato chips made in-house! Very friendly, helpful service. Accommodating to substitutions. The soda cooler full of really neat choices, like vanilla cream, green apple, and so many more. Next time I'll get a shake!
The food is good, but not special. They never answer the phone for take-out. A well run restaurant would put this place out of business in 15 minutes. Hopefully someone opens a competing restaurant soon with the actual capacity to serve the community. I would eat here 20 or 30 times a year if they would let me. Also the shoestring fries are not good. The just sell them because the cook quickly.

Last night was my 4th time eating here since I moved to Gig Harbor in 2025. Parking here can be a challenge if you don't want to walk a half block or more to park.
There are not a lot of tables, and a lot of people take out their orders. Just know seating is limited if you want to eat inside.
We grabbed the only table available in the shade outside, but it was a little chilly with the wind coming off the water.
We moved to a table inside as soon as one became available. I eyed the picnic table in the sun outside across the street diagonally at a park. Keep that park in mind if there are no tables for you to sit at. Looks like it could be a nice place to eat your meal.
On my first visit, I had the Spicy BBQ burger basket. I chose the Cole Slaw option. My girlfriend chose the shoestring fries.
She loved her burger and fries. I loved my burger. The Cole slaw was so good I had Cole slaw again on my second visit as I eyed my girlfriend’s shoestring fries because they look so good.
On my 3rd visit I had the Mushroom Swiss burger basket with fries. It did not disappoint and was delicious.
Last night, I had the Gorgonzola & Avocado burger basket with shoestring fries and a side of the Cole slaw. The burger was delicious once again.
The size of the burger patty each time seems substantial and much thicker than the thin burger patty’s I get at other places. I like the burger patty's here.
I love the seasoning put on the shoestring fries. Last night, the fries had a little too much salt on them. I ate them all anyway. And the quantity of fries is huge.
This is where I make a negative comment: I really enjoy the Cole slaw but ordering a side of the Cole slaw was disappointing. Beside my burger was a huge pile of fries. The Cole slaw side came in a container and when I looked in the container, it looked tiny and it was. I felt like the $5 side of Cole slaw was super skimpy and I will not order it again as a side.
I used the bathroom when there and appreciated how clean it was.
I literally wrote the book for restaurant managers and owners on how to turn all 1-to-5-star reviews into free ads for your restaurant, so I am a much tougher reviewer than 99% of the people.
I think most would have rated this burger joint 5 stars if they had my experience. I would have rated it 5 stars if it were not for the skimpy side of Cole slaw and over seasoned shoestring fries.
Since I am in the business of helping restaurants I like to get more business for free from their online presence and reputation, I pay attention to how many reviews a restaurant gets, do they respond to every review, and how they respond to reviews.
These things are an indication to me of how much the business owner knows and understands about growing a business in the digital age and The Gourmet Burger Shop needs help if they want more business than they currently have.

Little burger joint with pretty good food (shoestring fries are great). Service is super slow though, expect to wait 20+ mins for you order.
