I MUST take a moment even after a little over a week, to acknowledge this wonderful little place, specifically the folks inside. I went out on my birthday with my husband only wishing to sing a little bit. It had been forever since I have done karaoke as I am not often in bars anymore. It has been just over 4 years since I quit drinking. My husband too. So we are not around the opportunity a lot. I often pass this place always seeing the Sat 7pm Karaoke sign. So I decided to finally stop in. I'm so happy I did. The bartender went ABOVE & BEYOND to create a comfortable atmosphere for us while we were there offering us all kinds of options of things to drink that had no alcohol in them. The entire place sang me happy birthday! They made me feel so welcome. Many of the people there continued to wish me a happy birthday each time they passed me. Although most others had been drinking, not once did anyone make us feel out of place. Thank you Sand Bar Tavern. You helped make my birthday extra great.

Have driven past this place for years and finally stopped in after a hike and thoroughly enjoyed visiting with the owner and enjoying a beer and homemade food. Love the laid back, welcoming atmosphere. Highly recommend stopping here, especially if you need a rest from Highway 2!

Stopped for a leg stretch & walked into a party for sure. Friendly, great service, just like your own small home town. We did not eat, nice frosty mugs of rootbeer & beer for my partner. Great service. Nice outdoor fireplace in front.
Parking: Open gravel with mix of concrete. Lots of space.
