Wonderful Greek food and coffee.
St. John has wonderful foods to purchase. I am particularly fond of their homemade lentil soup, hummus, and dark chocolate treats.
Local and exotic pastries and treats as well as savory Greek casseroles are frozen for take out. Additionally, local coffee drinks are made and sold by the nuns in habit who reside here. Eat in or take out. A fun stop seemingly in the middle of nowhere.

St John's Monastery & Bakery is a charming spot in the gorge, perfect for people watching and enjoying the great food. The bakery is a must-visit, especially for dolmas, baklava, and tzatziki lovers, along with crisp and flaky pastries and the best pound cakes. The handmade crafts and soaps add to the appeal. The cafe is clean and welcoming, a great stop for authentic homemade Greek food, including Greek coffee and frozen lasagna to take home. A perfect midway point for road trips, it's a place worth returning to, with delicious treats and savory goodness.
