Jan and Chuck created an amazing place that's full of life and ingenuity. We spent our anniversary in Hoodsport and stopped at The Hardware Distillery, it's one of our favorite places. Their son owns and operates a brewery nearby, which is also fantastic! Both places are a exceptional and worthwhile for anyone looking for an adventure off the beaten path!
I learned about this place after tasting some of their products at Skal in Ballard. After a trip to Norway a few years ago I always get excited by aquavit and am always hoping to taste different varieties and learn more about it. The dill version made here particularly called to me. Once I learned that this was made locally in Hoodsport I knew that I would one day have to stop off to see the place it's made. Businesses in small rural towns can be hard to thrive ... relying on tourism and local staffing. So it's great when I see so many people inside Hardware Distillery. This is a place you may just wander into to see what's going on - not expecting to buy ANYTHING - and leave with a lighter wallet with BAGGED THINGS. Interesting things.
