Probably a favorite Mexican restaurant. It was our first visit, so who knows. But what I do know, as that we both think they have the absolute best rice and refried beans.
Was passing through Kalama and stopped for food. I really like the steak fajitas, very generous serving size and fair price.

I placed an order over the phone and the lady said it would be 15 minutes. I showed up 30 minutes later and they hadn’t even sent the order back yet so I waited another 10-15 minutes inside the restaurant which whatever I don’t care but then I paid $50 after a 5 dollar tip for one chimichanga and one pollo ala crème dish. No special add ons either. Menu stated that each dish was about 16 dollars so I’m really confused why I was charged so much. Was never offered a receipt either. Not only that but the last two times I’ve been there I have ordered pollo ala crème with no onions. Both times I have received my order with over half the dish onions. Not just a few here or there, no, it has been more onions than chicken like I seriously paid for onions and crème when I didn’t even want onions. The first time the restaurant didn’t really offer to fix it just kinda stood there and said sorry. I have given this place multiple tries, trying to support a local restaurant, but I’m paying way out of my budget to have to pick stuff out of the food. BOTH TIMES. Not trying to be rude but like be for real😭

The decor has an apparent theme, which is trees, I believe cherry blossom? Live plants and comfortable seating.
The chips and salsa were quite good, and were satisfied with our meals. Their portions are *generous = enough for lunch the following day! I ordered a combination meal, the tamale was excellent. Mr. Wonderful had the Chile Verde. The only disappointment was their corn tortillas are not made in house. Their prices are reasonable for Kalama. Good experience.
