Driving from Portland to Seattle, we stopped by Willie Dicks in Kalama, craving a burger. Turns out, although Willie's makes GREAT smoked meats, no burgers were on the menu. The wonderful waitress recommended the local Mexican restaurant for great burgers (I know... surprise!!). Well, there must be more than one Mexican restaurant in Kalama, and we walked over to the closest one (Playa Azul). No burgers on the menu, but the place seemed welcoming and the menu had plenty...
My OH my ... Stumbled upon this place a few days ago.... And my goodness whatta FIND!! Starting with The restaurant itself... Very clean and super organized 🧼🧹
We were quickly seated and out came the the chips and salsa... Super excellent.... I forgot to ask but they must make those chips themselves because you do not find chips like that ANYWHERE and the salsa was AMAZING.... I had the chicken super burrito...And it looked like something out of a magazine...

The decor has an apparent theme, which is trees, I believe cherry blossom? Live plants and comfortable seating.
The chips and salsa were quite good, and were satisfied with our meals. Their portions are *generous = enough for lunch the following
day! I ordered a combination meal, the tamale was excellent. Mr. Wonderful had the Chile Verde. The only disappointment...
