I should have known better than to go to a Mexican restaurant on Taco Tuesday AND Cinco de Mayo. Crowded, long wait, loud and crowded. Staff worked their butts off especially the bar. Food was just ok, service on point considering.
The staff was friendly and nice. It clean and what you expect going to an azteca. The families food was good and they enjoyed it. Mine was ok. Not nearly as good as I normally get. Definitely will go back.
I am sad to write this review because I have been eating a Azteca for over 20 years and it has been my go to place. The ambiance at the Canal location is horrible and ruins what should be an outstanding meal. One is basically eating in the bar with horrendous noise from the kitchen and bar crowd. The staff is courteous and helpful, the food delicious but how can you enjoy it when the noise is so bad you can't carry on a conversation with the one you are with. Worst dining...
