I had never been to the China Cafe. At first I was really kind of put off. The woman at the front desk was short and snappy. I explained I hadn't been there, and she expected me to know what I wanted in about 3 seconds, I almost walked out. But at the same time I wanted to know wheather the food was good or bad. Got the beef lo maine and the honey walnut shrimp. The lo maine was great! I can't say enough good things about it, however, the honey walnut shrimp was another story. The sauce is a mayonnaise based sauce which isn't an issue but there wasn't very much honey in it to give it the more sweet taste that most restaurants use for the dish. Don’t let the smell fool ya! When you first walk in, you might wonder if this is the place where you want to eat? It is. The food is outstanding - incredibly tasty. Portions are fair, prices are reasonable and service is good. Actually some of the best Chinese food I’ve had in a long time.
