visited today for breakfast The New Local Restaurant & Bar with my nephew, and while the experience had some highlights, it also left room for improvement.

Starting with the positives, the service was exceptional. From the moment we walked in, the staff were very attentive and accommodating. They went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable, which I greatly appreciated. The restaurant itself was also impeccably clean and welcoming. It’s clear that they put effort into creating a kid-friendly environment, which made dining with little ones much easier.

Unfortunately, the food quality didn’t live up to expectations. I ordered pancakes, but they weren’t tasty at all they lacked flavor and fell flat compared to what I hoped for. For the kids, I ordered fries, but they were excessively salty. I actually had to rub the salt off before letting my nephew eat them. This was disappointing, especially considering the effort they’ve put into other aspects of the experience.

Despite the food issues, the overall vibe of the restaurant is inviting, and the service team is clearly passionate about ensuring a positive dining experience. However, I hope the management takes feedback about the food quality seriously. With some adjustments in the kitchen, this place could have real potential to become a favorite spot.

Final Thoughts: This restaurant has a lot going for it with its great service and clean, family-friendly atmosphere. However, the food needs improvement to make it a place I’d want to return to regularly. For now, I’d recommend visiting for the atmosphere but managing expectations when it comes to the food.

Wanted to see if there was any good place to eat in Kent and I was graving Mexican food so decided to go to this place that a family friend recommended. The food was good everything we order was good. For a a Canadian looking for Mexican food I highly recommend this place and the price isn’t too bad for four people. I had the taco everything on it was cooked perfectly

We got seated right away. Our hosts name was Jocelyn. She was great. Super knowledgeable with the menu. I got the birria and it was amazing. Flushed it down with a Paloma. We will be back! Jocelyn also talked me into getting the bread pudding which was also freaking amazing. Buddy got the flan and he said it was fire.

This is the first time I've been in since it changed ownership and my goodness we've been missing out! What a lovely family owned business. The food here is authentic and delicious. The mole is grandma's recipe and a must try... I cleaned my plate! The birria is aunties recipie and is now my husband's favorite. Our server, Juan was so friendly and attentive, he brought out a variety of salsas for us to try, everything we had was so flavorful and delicious. My only regret is we didn't come by sooner. Don't miss this gem of a spot in Kent... I know I'll be back very soon.

If you’re within 30 mins of here, or even further, definitely check this place out. My husband and I decided to drive up from Auburn. We were shocked to see they weren’t very busy based on the reviews. We were immediately escorted to a table we got to choose. Our server was quick to get us menus, gave us just the right amount of time to figure out our drink choices, and got our food order as soon as we got our drinks. The app came out within 10 mins, the cheese is soooo good! And I’m picky on my melted cheese. Our main dishes came out about 10 mins after our app. My husband got the Birria and I got the Birria Dip. The Birria broth is so good! I was glad my husband had some cuz I needed more! We decided to try the Flan.. so worth it!! Good service, great food! We’ll be back.

The new local is a local favorite!!
I’ve had breakfast , lunch & dinner here and everything has always been AMAZING . They have a great selection but my go to favorite is the mushroom burger w/ sweet potatoes fries .
Thick pieces of bacon on top of grilled mushrooms & a juicy meat , truffle mayo and I always add grilled onions 10/10

hidden gem in kent! the food was amazing with large portions and the service was great too. highly recommend the ceviche salseado, super flavorful and spicy!
