The reviews were good and we decided to try this Vietnamese restaurant. Excellent service, small interior but good ambience. The two orders were substandard. My chicken Pho with added tofu (I prefer slightly bigger pieces of fresh tofu instead of fried, but every restaurant is different) was not as flavorful…also I ended up setting aside all the chicken pieces on a separate plate as I could not eat the chicken due to not tasting fresh. It was our first time coming here. The review is based on the food we ordered that day.
Pros: The shrimp spring rolls were wrapped with pork, and they looked and tasted good! The steak in the Special Pho ($20) was thick-cut and tender.
Cons: There was no beef tripe in the pho, and the meatballs were either pork or chicken meat. The broth contained a lot of MSG, so I wouldn’t recommend drinking it. The grilled pork chop over rice $18 was flavorful, but...
