Perfect food- perfect location. Right on the Lake Washington waterfront across from the sand volleyball court and park with its beachfront sand and shared duck, this location is truly amazing and it is exactly the kind of food one expects that ivor's. Always my very favorite fish cooked to perfection, I like the thickness of the fish. I love their fries. I love their sauces. Ivar's, fish done in the Pacific Northwest where the company started and where it continues to flourish. This is my home location

I need to stop eating here. The chowders are tasty but don't agree with me. The fries are pretty solid, typically a nice golden-brown-and-delicious; my only complaint with them is that they could use more salt. The fried cod often has gaps in the breading, allowing hot oil in between the breading and the fish. Consequently the breading slides off while you're trying to eat it, rather than adhering properly. Perhaps inadequate dredging before breading? The cod-flesh itself is pretty medium-well; flakes nicely, but a touch of rubberiness. I haven't gotten the salmon or the cornbread in a year or two so my memory might be faulty, but I seem to recall that the salmon was quite dry / overcooked, and the cornbread was sticky-sweet, more dessert than side.All that said, service is generally pretty good; they have my pick-up order out right around when they said they would, even during peak rush.

Came across this place on a stroll around the neighborhood whilst staying at a local hotel. Seafood was fresh and tasty, and most importantly they remembered all of the sauces I ordered. An enjoyable experience.

Ivars has a Long John Silvers kind of feel which is fine but the prices don't reflect that. $70 for 4 plates and drinks is on the higher side for us.Being next to the water is great.The restaurant is clean and not too busy.Staff is friendly and helpful especially since it was our first time here.The food was bland and unexciting and I don't feel it reflected $13 a plate. You pay for the location and the fact you are in Seattle.Overall a pleasant experience but out of my budget.
The batter on the fish today (3-pc.) seemed more like a beer batter (greasier). Don't know if it was old grease, or .. ? (was there about 3:30pm on a Sat.) I've actually never had that happen before.

Great place for good fish at a reasonable price... Not a elegant dine in experience.... Basic but
I'm a big seafood lover so I definitely had to try this place right by Downtown Kirkland! It was pretty pricy, however the fish itself was pretty decent. I noticed that the ratio with the batter and the fish was very low, and really wished there was more fish than flour. They also served calamari which was amazing, it was so tasty, salty, and flavorful so I would highly recommend that! The service was fast and the register guy was super nice and helpful on what to order. The atmosphere was more of a dining and mediocre place, so more on an after beach day lunch! Parking is super easy however very tight and small, but wasn't an issue and it was right next to the restaurant itself!
