Kirkland Bakery is a local cafe that offers a variety of coffee, pastries, and other baked goods. The mocha was praised as one of the better coffees in the area. The pastries, particularly the Danish cheese fruit, were also highlighted as a highlight of the visit. The staff were described as friendly, contributing to the overall nice vibe of the place. The raspberry croissant is to die for.
The cafe itself was spacious and pretty quiet with no TVs. The entrance and the whole restaurant is flat with plenty of space between the tables, so it should be easy to navigate with a wheelchair. There's plenty of free parking spaces in the library parking across the street.
However, some customers had less positive experiences. One customer had trouble ordering a specific item and felt the staff were overly concerned about the price difference. Another customer was disappointed with the cold croissants and felt the prices were a bit steep for the quality of the food. A 12 oz latte was rather bitter and not filled. The tomato chunks in the salmon crepe were so big and numerous, that they overwhelmed the taste, made the crepe a bit soggy, and also rapidly cooled it down. The plate could have also been bigger - the food barely fit on it, so eating was a bit annoying. The vibe is closer to a student cafeteria, than a quiet cafe. The price/quality ratio could be better in opinion.
Despite these issues, the bakery appears to be a popular spot. Everything is made in store. A large variety of baked goods from croissants to jam filled bread and danishes. All the lunch items are made by a chef in the back. Every coffee item on the menu is a favorite. The pricing is so good.
