Super good food and service. Highly recommend the gnocchi special. Only complaint - it's an open kitchen and you will smell when you leave!
We haven't gone wrong here after several meals—unpretentious but a little stark in terms of ambience and bring a sweater if it's truly winter. But...and a big but....the food is just plain excellent. Lamb shank was flavorful and a generous accompaniment of fresh vegetables on my plate and my wife's boar. Service is attentive and timely. We consistently come away from meals at Volterra quite pleased with the experience.
We sat at the bar and had a really nice night. Service was great. Friendly, attentive, and easy to talk to. Never felt rushed, never ignored. Food was solid Italian. Simple, well executed, and exactly what we were in the mood for. Feels like a little gem in Kirkland. We'll definitely be back.
We were a party of four one had the lamb shank two of us had the jumbo shrimp and one had the Porchetta. Everything looked pretty on the plate, but tasted bland with the exception of the Porchetta, that tasted mostly of the butter the slice was fried in. We did really enjoy the appetizer of fried cauliflower.
Great food and beverage. Enjoyed this experience. The server was a bit confused by dairy allergy requests but overall good.
Sensational food, superb service, nice fairly quiet ambience--one of the best restaurant outings we've had in years.
It's tough for a restaurant to cope with holiday traffic and Volterra delivered a great Christmas Eve experience for 5 of us. Prompt seating, wine service and appetizers. The kitchen was backed up but we were offered anything to make the longer wait palatable but we were quite content. Nice to have the delay acknowledged but soon the food did arrive. Great food and lovely atmosphere. This might easily become a yearly thing. Our adult kids loved it.
The food and cocktails were delicious and service excellent. I was cold all night as our table was right opposite the entrance.
Great food, service and atmosphere! Had the special, Petrale sole and it was delicious. Served a huge piece of fish.
Our dinner of Crab Ravioli was good but not outstanding. The sauce was excellent, but the crab stuffing was bland. Our service was outstanding and the waiter was attentive, helpful and very kind. My wife received a complimentary desert because we were celebrating her birthday. We will definitely go again.

As always, the food and dining experience were impeccable. When one of our guests admitted at the very end of the meal that she didn't fully enjoy her dish (she had barely touched it), our waiter immediately discussed her feedback with the chef and her meal was removed from the bill. We were not expecting this at all, so it was an unexpected delighter, that her concerns were handled with such grace although nothing had been mentioned earlier. We often visit Volterra for special occasions and will continue doing so.
What a great night! We utilized the restaurant week menu and had a fantastic meal. The short ribs and prawns were perfectly done and the huge Arugula strawberry salad was also wonderful. Our waiter was fun and enjoyed the banter we all had with him. We will be back!
Amazing experience as always! Many thanks to the Volterra team who delivers excellence every time! So grateful to have you in Kirkland.
Food was great and the service was wonderful! Our extremely attentive and helpful waiter clearly had extensive wine knowledge and made a great recommendation for our chosen dishes. Loved the music that was playing and it was at the perfect volume as to not intrude. This was our third time there and it never disappoints!
Food was excellent - had the bread (crusty on the outside and warm on the inside), clams & sausage (briny and timed perfectly - went well with the bread), duck confit (meat fell off the bone), and the roast chicken (well seasoned, though a tad dry - sauce helped).
