“I’m from Baja California, so I’m picky about my Mexican food. My wife and I came here, and honestly, I was dreading it she always picks the worst spots. BUT… I was completely wrong this time. I’ve tried a lot of mole, even made my own, and let me tell youthis place has the BEST mole I’ve ever tasted. No joke. It was so good, it almost felt wrong washing it down with water. Whoever’s in the kitchen making that mole? Give them a raise.”

“Run, do not walk to Nell Thorn Restaurant & Pub restaurant in La Conner. From the second that you walk inside the front doors, you know…that you are not in Kansas anymore! The surroundings were warm, and very inviting, and I loved the fact that every single member of the staff that approached the table, introduced themselves by name. The view is so unbelievable. Looking out of the windows, and seeing the moon reflected off of the water in La Conner was simply put: Magic. I wasn’t necessarily going to have a cocktail, but when I looked at their list, I absolutely had to order their Manhattan, which was exemplary and used only the best ingredients. Their menu is very reasonably priced for the unbelievable culinary experience that they provide. I was having a hard time deciding on what to choose from the menu, and the chicken was recommended to me. I don’t normally eat chicken in a restaurant. But after reading the ingredients which included confit chicken, wild mushrooms, and a marsala sauce, I decided to change my mind. Finding out I was gluten intolerant they even suggested substituting the pasta, which was on the menu, with their fried polenta. It was magnificent! Every bite was crispy, and every portion of the plate had a different phenomenal flavor that just exploded in your mouth. The owner recommended a beautiful red wine which was the perfect accompaniment for our dinner. And don’t get me started on the desert that was smothered in a rum caramel sauce. I have not been able to stop thinking about my dining experience at Nell Thorn and I give it five stars… Two thumbs up and a whole hearted recommendation. Bravo Nell Thorn🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Bobbi”

“We accidentally ran across this bakery on a walk this morning while visiting La Conner. I stopped because of the sandwich board sign. We bought one of each flavor this morning .. that's 8 scones. I was planning on taking them home tomorrow and freezing most of them. They aren't going to make it home. Eaten 5 of those 8 scones. It's mainly what I have eaten today - happily. They are delicious. So far my favorite has been the jalapeno cheddar. The young man that helped us this morning - phenomenal. I will definitely be back!”

“I enjoyed an absolutely superb lunch at Thai Garden's beautiful location yesterday afternoon with two friends. We completely loved all the dishes we ordered: fresh rolls with shrimp served with a warmed light sauce, Pad Broccoli with chicken, Pad See Eu with tofu but the dish that delighted all three of us---the best asparagus dish we'd ever had---was Asparagus Shrimp (C4).The asparagus was fresh, cut on an angle and perfectly cooked. Imagine your dream asparagus with a very slight crunch in a special "chef's special sauce." It was clear that Boon, the owner and chef, takes great pride in his work. We were so deeply impressed with him, the food, the cleanliness of the space that we've asked Thai Garden to cater our next event. And while it's true, some of us had eaten here in the past, everything has changed for the better.The food and the space surprised us as it has become more delicious and truly, we couldn't have asked for anything more!”

“This is a nice place I've been meaning to try for a while. It'll take more than one visit to sample their menu. I'm a sucker for a sazerac and the cajun bitters really added another dimension. I really enjoyed the braised duck with the mushroom rigatoni. It was busy with our server doubling as the bartender, yet the she was attentive. We were too full for dessert but there is always next time.”

“I have never been to your town, and it did not disappoint. I loved the businesses that made up the town. The food at your establishment was amazing and came out super fast. I ordered the guacamole which is always hit or miss for me because sometimes it’s spicy (don’t like spicy food) and other times it is not. It was prepared perfectly and I even tried the salsa, and let me be clear here, I am NOT a salsa person. However, it was delicious, and I will be back here again. “Lovely little pub-style restaurant. The atmosphere is cozy, and the food is tasty and creative. Our server was also the bartender - he was gracious and made us feel at home. We've eaten here a couple of times before, and have always enjoyed it. However, currently the prices are excessively high, compared with similar dishes at other restaurants. Every choice of wine on the menu is expensive - why couldn't they also have a modestly-priced choice? While our server was great, it took forever to get our food, even though they were nearly empty...”

The Italian dining experience you've always dreamed of: a boisterous host greeted us warmly and loudly and when we sheepishly admitted we didn't have a reservation he responded with 'What's your name?! Now you do!' and showed us straight to our ideal seats at the bar. The servers were exceptional, the service excellent, the ambiance enchanting, the food sooooo delicious. ? There was a live musician, friendly conversation all around and overall a beautiful Saturday date night dining experience... 10/10 can't wait to go back. “My son and I tried this fantastic place to eat and have coffee today! I can’t believe we haven’t been here yet!! The owner was so nice and to learn the culture was so beautiful. Anacortes is blessed to have this place. My son is on crutches so he helped walk us to our car and then ran back in to get us to bowls of lentil soup 🍜 that is the best I’ve ever had!! He didn’t even charge us for the soups!! If you haven’t been here yet please go!!”
