Pretty close to a perfect 5, so don't feel it's got any bad points. It's been a few years since last time we ate here. First was breakfast and excellent food, this time I had BLT sandwich and wife had the taco salad, plus we got onion rings. Everything was great, no shortage of servings and definitely fresh. The atmosphere is fine, just a little different from most places we've been to. We also grabbed one of the monster cinnamon rolls. It was big enough for both of us BUT it kind of missed the 'cinnamon' part. Bump that up a bit and maybe add the option of raisins to the rolls as well. Overall a great place for a meal any time of day.

In all honesty,
It's a beautiful good ambience and food is homely and just tastes like it's made from scratch. Also definitely just enjoy the view and have some good coffee while you wait for food. It's good

On two different occasions, there was a problem with my food and water. Once there was a curly hair in my food which I thought was gross. Then today, on my last swallow of water, I felt something on my tongue. When I took it out of my mouth, I was in shock to see it was a broken dirty fingernail. Not fake, real. I was mortified. No one in this place gave a dam. The nail was either in the ice bin, or in the water. I will never go back there again. The manager didn't come out, because they said she wasn't there today. Whoever was second in charge did not face me. I cried and wanted out of there. I was affected mentally by this for awhile. I can't rate this place in food or beverage or even service because No one cared.

This seems like a place where you really have to be careful with what you order and probably best to stick to breakfast. The sirloin dinner is literally just an average hamburger patty. Why not make a nice pot roast dinner instead?
Be sure to avoid the chocolate cream pie. They should be ashamed to serve this. It’s like the cheapest Walmart style pie. As badly artificial as you could find. I figured they had homemade or at least homemade style deserts.
Wife got an omelet which was really good. Thinking that is when to go here

The restaurant has been a staple in the Lakewood Community for over 3/4 of a century, with a consistent and solid reputation. Being in the hospitality business, I don't have the opportunity to frequent as much as I would like, but family has been coming here ever since I can remember. What impressed me most or rather whom, was our server Annie. She has a natural gift of pleasantness, professionalism, and efficiency. The place was busy, and adding a promotion to the mix could have been chaotic. Annie remained calm, collected and attentive at every point of service. One would not know she had 17 tables operating at different stages, if you weren't paying attention, which is a major feet in itself. Her demeanor was poised, patient and kind, without a sign of stress at any time. Employees like that are rare, and I hope you realize what a shining star you have. She is the best of the best. But your entire team pulled off such a great job. The food arrived promptly, and the homemade chicken corn chowder was absolutely delicious. Unsolicited, the bartender stepped in to assist to keep everything running without a glitch. When you have an entire staff working together like that, you have success. That is why you have such a strong reputation throughout all these years. I appreciated being on the receiving end of a lovely dinner, even greater pleased with your staff. Thank you.

Wanted the loved the chicken fried steak but it wasn't good. The gravy was a floury paste, really awful. The omelet he had was good. The holindaise sauce is incredible. Service alright. Could not get anymore coffee just the one cup They were kinda busy.

Burs is an institution not just a restaurant. Good breakfast place but also good comfort food the rest of the time. Their prices are higher but I suppose everyone's is. Always friendly and outstanding staff.

I realize that a single person dining alone can't possibly generate as big a tip as other tables comma but Word of mouth really matters. I came because of Word of mouth to try the chicken fried steak, which isn't really any better than anyone else's. Same Frozen fried piece of meat same canned gravy. The server got my order wrong, I had to ask twice for coffee, and there was no check back. I will no longer be coming out of my way to come for their food. When I did complain, the server asked me if I wanted a discount. That's really not how it works.
