JJ Fish & Chicken

Not impressed, and I will not go back. We were so excited to find a JJ's, we're from the Midwest. We drove from Kent, and I wouldn't go back. Everything was greasy and tastes like it came out of a box 😳not the shrimp you see in the ad. Flat super dry an tasteless.

Today we ordered the Italian Beef sandwich and the 10 piece chicken wings.
The wings were ordered with the sweet heat sauce and they were the best wings I have ever had! I won’t order them from anywhere else!!! They stay crispy on the outside even with the sauce. They were very meaty and not small like most places.
The sandwich was HUGE and as always such a treat. This is all that my friend ever orders!!
I have always had the fish before today, and it is always so good and crispy.
The portions are always generous and I always land up with a 2nd meal, which I love.
The service is always exceptional!!
You cannot go wrong eating here!!!
Such a wonderful place on Gravelly Lake Rd!!

I never been to the restaurant in person but I have ordered through door dash. Their food is really delicious and fresh. And cooked with love. I would recommend this restaurant 5 stars 🌟 hopefully I can come in and have a meal in person.

Last time I went, I got their fried chicken. It was pretty good. I've had their fried fish before which is also really good. There is never a line here but they do take a while to make your food.

Ordered the 10 piece legs, thighs, and wings combo. The name is a complete misnomer - the pieces are miniscule. The legs and thighs are the size you would expect from a Cornish hen. What a rip off.

When I found out that there was a place with fried whiting I was very excited. I placed an order for my husband and I, paid $62 and waited in anticipation. Got my food, went home, and now I’m honestly so saddened. I had such high hopes and big expectations. The whiting “filets” were thin, it was one filet made to look like two filets. It was so severely overcooked that chewing it was like eating beef jerky. The inside looked like a translucent brown/grey color, it was not white and fluffy like whiting. It was also severely overcooked. This was my first experience here and honestly my last. I was going to ask for my money back, but it seems like they might need it more then I do. Especially since they’re selling one fish cut half as two filets. I’m so disappointed.

As a Chicago native i was thrilled to find this place. Great portions and made fresh to order. Advise ordering ahead online. Saves you time and a few bucks. We had catfish filets and nuggets with lemon pepper and chicken wings. Delicious. Definitely returning. And they have the famous Chicago mild sauce. Italian beef and the seafood gumbo will be my next 😋 menu items to try.
Oh and I also took home some of their Cajun Lemon Pepper and Jerk Lemon Pepper seasoning.

Food, service, price, quality, freshness excellent 👌🏼, The place could be bigger with more seating and some blinds on the windows or some type of shade! Other than that, great spot!
