We ate a lunch and a breakfast at Avenue Bread, as it is in the first floor of the Inn at Lynden where we stayed one night. Excellent order-at-the-counter food with lots of omelettes, breakfast plates, sandwiches, salads, and pastry items to choose from. The Tuna Melt with havarti cheese was the best tuna melt I’ve ever had! Highly recommend this place.

Tasty food and drinks. The burgers are great but breakfast is the best. Egg sandwiches are amazing! If you're looking for a full breakfast the Eggs Benedict are super tasty

It took 45 minutes for our breakfast to be made. They forgot our order. I asked twice for status before they started cooking it. Numerous people arrived and left before us.

We've eaten at Avenue Bread several times, always for breakfast. It's in an older building which has been converted in a utilitarian fashion into a restaurant. Order at the counter and bus your own table. The great food makes it all worth it.

On our way to Salem we stopped in for some sandwiches at Avenue Bread. I had a classic tuna and my wife had the chicken salad. Both yummy with lettuce, tomatoes and cucumber.

Super great food. My wife and I both had their "Eggenues" breakfast sandwiches. So tasty and healthy (it seemed at least). And the baked goods were a great dessert. And Jess, the woman who helped us was so upbeat and helpful. Go here if you're in town.

Not sure when this recipe changed but we are locals who loved the previous Southwest Salad and were shocked to be served probably the worst salad we have ever had at a restaurant anywhere. 100% frisee lettuce barely wettened with the most vinegar-y vinaigrette you can imagine (could not taste a hint of the avacado or cilantro), some black beans, no red pepper to be found although listed, and an ice-cold dry-as-a-bone chicken breast with zero flavor, all buried in a cup of feta, which is not a southwest flavor at all. The focaccia bread, usually warm and tender and amazing, was also extremely dry and there was no butter. For $15!!!!! We asked for extra dressing but it was so vinegar-y I had to set it aside. Really, all you tasted in this salad was vinegar and feta. For a third of the price we could have gotten an entire Costco rotisserie chicken and a whole bag of their salad mix with pumpkin seeds and craisins and been much happier. Or a McDonald's SW chicken salad which actually has SW flavors and warm, tasty chicken! We feel totally ripped off.

Great place to eat in Lynden! The food an ambiance are terrific. The portions are not that large so don't bring your teenager or it'll cost you a fortune but for the rest of us, it's perfect.

Friendly service and great food. I had the Ruben and it was delicious. Corn beef was fresh and hot. I had mine on fresh sour dough. I tried the blood orange ale and it was very good. My husband had the clam chowder and it was delicious. We can't wait to get back and try something else. :)

I am giving them 2 stars because they do have good food, but, Last weekend my wife & I stopped by at 3:45pm to have late lunch since we had been talking about going there for the past couple of hours. We were denied service because they we "about to close. There was one table currently in use so there was lots of room. Their signage clearly stated open til 4pm Most any other restaurant I know of would have seated us since there was 15 minutes left, but not Avenue bread. Really bothered us about the callous and definite, No, that we got

We stayed at the Inn at Lynden in which Avenue Bread is located, so it was very convenient to shuffle down from our hotel room in the morning and have breakfast at Avenue Bread. The selection of egg dishes is mesmerizing! And first thing in the morning it was a challenge to home in on the best choice. The breakfast sandwiches became my favorite as there were probably a dozen variations to choose from. There are also a selection of 'benies' to choose from as well. I would give Avenue Bread five stars for their food but have knocked that back because the cappuccinos and lattes had way to much milk and too little coffee. Even though I asked for an extra shot in a short cup, there smallest cup was very large and I couldn't taste the coffee. Hopefully this is the exception, but unfortunately this was my experience the three days we ate there.

We stayed in Lynden for a few days recently, and loved eating at Avenue Bread - we came here here three times over three days, not only out of convenience (we stayed next door) but also because of the solid food, overall diverse menu, and ample seating. Their breakfast and lunch ranges from basic (I.e. eggs and bacon plate, which is perfect for a picky toddler) to more complex (breakfast sandwiches and large complex lunch salads). Not surprisingly, their bread is indeed really fantastic - super fresh, with a crunchy crust with a nice soft center. They had some beers on tap too, as well as a large selection of hot tea and many non-dairy milk options. Service is friendly and helpful. Both inside and outside seating, with a trendy and rustic ambiance indoors. Easily one of the best places to eat in town.

The bread is so fluffy and delicious! Got the gourmet Turkey sandwich. Lots of turkey, nice accoutrements on it, very good bread. A little pricey $13 total with tax. Lovely baked goods as well. Nice pretty atmosphere.

This is a wonderful place for a quick breakfast or lunch. There are an extensive breakfast and lunch menus utilizing artisan breads. The staff is friendly and efficient. The Lynden location has a nice local vibe and an integral part of downtown Lynden.

My husband and I went there for the first time the other day. I had the Tree House which is Egg Bendicts with Spinach, Mushrooms and carmelized onions. My husband had The Farm House which is Egg Benedict with sausage PATTIES,and red onion. Both served with hash browns. We live by honesty and transperancy and expect to be treated the same. My husband's breakfast did not come with PATTIES, it came with 1 small patty cut in half and each half placed under an egg. I will say the eggs and the hash browns were cooked correctly but we will not go back there because of being mislead. We talked to 2 servers and they didn't know that customers were being cheated.. What else is misleading on their menu? We don't know, but will never trust them again.
