I came here for a rehearsal dinner a few months ago and had the strangest experience.
The bride and groom said the Mill was enthusiastic when booking months earlier. However, during the event, the owner seemed downright annoyed by everyone, it felt like we were walking on egg shells the whole time. This made clear by lots of eye rolls and huffs at simple requests. (Example: I’m sorry, I asked for a sauv blanc, but this is a red).

I would understand if the behavior came from an employee who was annoyed to be working the holiday weekend, but this was the owner! I could also understand if we were a rowdy group of intoxicated young people, but that was also not the case.
I could even understand if this behavior was a one-off “bad moment” but this was consistent throughout the entire night with multiple people.

They seat you but don't bother to take your order. Waited over 30 minutes just to order food after the server ignored us while serving everyone around. Gave our gift card to someone else while heading out the door. ✌️

Cute little restaurant, was quiet and peaceful and the atmosphere was fancy and cozy. The waitress seems to be a hard worker and was still friendly to us. The menu was a little small but the food was still pretty good!! I would recommend the apple crostini.

What a terrible disappointment. My 14 year old daughter wanted to surprise me for Valentine’s Day. I’ve never even heard of the mill but she researched it herself and called all by herself to make us a reservation and then surprised me. She was so proud of herself. Unfortunately right as we left to go we had something emergent come up. We weren’t sure how long it would take. We called and apologized and asked if we could try coming in later. She said it would be a walk in and would be busy. We apologized again and said we understand. Once our situation was resolved we went in and asked if we could still have dinner. We explained we had to cancel earlier. We understand we would be on a waitlist. The lady went over to ask someone else if we could be set. The other lady scrunched up her face and said very nasty while shaking her head said loudly no! They missed their time and they aren’t coming in! My disaster was so embarrassed and defeated. All they had to say was we are sorry we are full, which they weren’t. Not a person waiting and half the tables empty. I walked by the lady and said you know we can hear you and you are rude! As we left you could hear her still talking about us. I am so proud of my daughter. I hope the lady gets a night as pleasant as she was.

Second time dining here and interestingly, both experiences were pretty much the same in terms of service. There only seems to be one brunette gal ever working no matter how busy they are. Both times I’ve come they have been busy and she just seems overworked and frustrated and It definitely projects to the customer. This is unfortunate as the food is decent. So do you come here and just expect the service to be sub par and tip accordingly? Or do you opt for a place that values you as a customer and works hard for a good tip?

The Mill at Seventh is a unique oasis with a speakeasy feel in the heart of Lynden. The staff are exceptional and the food is on point! I appreciate their extensive selection of wines and willingness to try new cocktails. The live music is amazing too!

We used to love the Mill before things just got weird. It's hit or miss for a Hostess and if there is no Hostess, you just get ignored. If you ask to sit, you get told all of the tables are "Reserved." We just wanted a drink before the show at The Claire but No, we were treated like a bother. It's a disappointment because it is a lovely place with good food. I know it's not the owner's fault, or maybe it is, but the people who do get to sit and grab a drink at the bar or tables are very judgey. I'd rather go someplace where I'm welcome regardless. By the way, while waiting for the Will Call to open, I could see empty tables everywhere. I hope she manages to stay open but it can do it without me or my money or recommendation.

The new menu was a small subset of a former menu: one choice of soup, several salads, and a few flatbread options. The salads were ok; my husband liked his, but mine was a bit vinegary. I ordered a side of bread which was very bland and served with a small bowl of vinegar with a splash of oil and no seasonings. The atmosphere was nice, but I probably won't go there again.

Just left there. Only an appetizer menu was left at the table, nothing else. Horrible service and we were one of 2 tables. Met a friend there for my birthday dinner. Gonna have a hard time going back or recommending to others. Waitress received a poor tip accordingly, not by me but by the person paying.Do better
