Clearly a family owned, family operated little restaurant. The server spoke highly of the origins of the restaurant and was very friendly, helpful, and patient with me. I used the Seattle Restaurant Week menu, choosing prawns for appetizer and soup. Very, very good. For the main, I enjoyed catfish, served with a wonderful sauce, rice , and a side salad. All really well made and delectable. For dessert, I went with the mango option, served with sticky rice and a cream sauce, with mung(sp) on the side. Perfect texture. The mango was just the right amount of ripe. I'll be back to try other items.

Family owned, the son was really nice with his service, very friendly and very nice to talk to. The food was phenomenal and the wait time was also pretty quick. The place was clean, the dishes were clean, made me feel like I was living back in Thailand with the resemblance. Would definitely come back here again.

Just ordered 4 orders of pad Thai to go however, it seems like the food has changed. The pad Thai noodles were overly chewed and not separated. The rice along with the noodles seemed like it wasn’t cooked enough. Used to love this place and after today I am

Decent portions and friendly service. The flavors of our dishes were different than what I would expect. Not very dimensional and somewhat off. Not my cup of tea unfortunately. We ordered the Pad Thai, Pad See Ew and Tom Kha soup. The soup tasted normal, but we ordered a large and it came less than full (see pic).

Got the pad see ew and Panang curry, both were pretty good. The spice level was pretty good for medium, not too spicy but you definitely could taste the chili powder. Downside is your don't get actual plates and forks and spoons, it's all take out style even if you're dining in. Slightly sketched by the payment because I paid $20 total for my split of the check after tip ($17.38 w/ 15%) and then a few days later the charge on my card turned into $21. Not sure if this was an accidental slip up since they had the old fashion card reader and paper receipt or if it was intentional but it's a good reminder to keep your receipts for future reference.

I'm giving only a 3-star review, but still would recommend Chili Basil. Two things cause me to give this rating:First, I asked for a spice level of "mild" (1 of 5) and even commented, "I'm a wimp." The pad see ew was pretty dang spicy. Not so much that I couldn't finish it, but more than "mild." So, if you are also a wimp, order "no spice." And I don't know who would be asking for a 5.Second, the place is so popular--mostly with To Go orders--that I had to wait over 30 minutes for my meal and I saw others being told it would be a 50-minute wait. That's a long time for Thai food. It was a Friday night, so I'm sure it's better at other times.
