Great atmosphere overall, but the experience can be inconsistent during the week. The weekend bartender, in particular, comes across as unfriendly and has developed a reputation for being rude. There have also been concerns about situations being misrepresented, leading to patrons—and even their dogs—being unfairly banned.
Special Brews is my favorite bottle shop in WA! Constantly have 25 rotating beers on tap and so many bottles to choose from. Laid back vibe and dog friendly as well. Been going for close to 10 years and don't plan to stop anytime soon. Quintessential neighborhood hang!
Edit: They refunded the difference, I'll definitely be back! Got a growler filled here the price showed $18 but at the register the total was $27. Being as this was the first time I've ever filled a growler I assumed there was some sort of special growler tax but after researching that's not the case.
