I ordered the Philadelphia Roll, one piece Inari Nigiri, and one piece Creamy Scallop Nigiri. It was among the best sushi I have ever had, and it reminded me of Hello Nori in the Vancouver Area in BC. I wish there were prices on the Nigiri section of the menu, even if it was “Market Price”. The restaurant looks unassuming! The staff are kind, but approached us before we had a chance to look at the menu or have a bite of our food.
Yuzen is an absolute hidden gem! It may be tucked away in the back of a suburban shopping mall parking lot, but it's an amazing little spot for delicious, super well executed Japanese dishes from a huge range of sushi, to delicious chicken katsu. The staff are very friendly and super attentive (maybe even a tad too attentive, as they sometimes checked on us a little soon before we had a chance to read the menu or try a dish). Yuzen is the best restaurant on Mercer Island and has been for over a decade. Their sushi chefs are artists. They only serve the freshest fish. If you don't live on Mercer Island, it certainly is a long drive as it is on the south end. But if you live on Mercer Island, there is no reason to go to Bellevue or Seattle because whatever you go will not be better than Yuzen.
