I love the tamales, carnitas & birria. Combing through all the one star reviews I realized all restaurants have bad days. As someone who has ate here for the past 15 years I have yet to have a complain.
This is a hidden little Mexican place in Mount Vernon. We got there close to closing time, so nobody else was there. However, the staff welcomed us with no problem and were very engaging and friendly. The restaurant is cheerfully decorated and clean. The food tasted good, but I do wish that it had been served. Warmer. Prices were absolutely reasonable for our meals.

I'm usually after carnitas street tacos, but this time I asked for an enchilada, a tamale and a taco and was very pleased.
The enchilada was particularly amazing, proper Mexican style. Kind of crunchy at the ends and dressed super nicely for an amazing texture!
