I haven't been in a Safeway in years. I needed my Covid Booster and Safeway was offering them, I made my appointment and got in at a perfect time for me. I could tell the pharmacy was being pushed to the limit, which is often the case with pharmacies, that has to be one of the most stressful jobs, it seems like they are always running full throttle. Their front end is the worst in the business. I spent 15 years in the grocery business and we made every effort to get our customers out the door as quickly as possible.Safeway wants you to use the self checkout to save on payroll. What's next, have the customers unload freight? I don't work there, man your cash registers and get your customers thru in a reasonable amount of time.
