Pizzeria La Gitana - Olympia

Just got back from dinner here. I honestly don't remember the last time I wrote a review for a restaurant. If you are looking for a great restaurant in Olympia for Pizza or other Italian fare, give this place a try. Kyle was our server and he deserves all the accolades in the world for taking care of our table of 7 tonight. Great place and an amazing outing!

We had a wonderful dinner in the Yelm location and English our host was very attentive and gave great customer service. We would definitely recommend this place.

This is my favorite restaurant in Olympia for so many reasons. They have impeccable customer service and tonight offered me a free meal when forgetting to put in my order. The food is superb, the ambience is always lovely, the menu affordable. It is the customer service that has me recommending this restaurant to anyone and everyone. Thank you!

I’ve been here a few times and it’s honestly become one of my favorite restaurants in Washington. I come from Tacoma to be here and I love it so much. The homemade pesto sauce is unreal, the fresh desserts are amazing and the prices are super reasonable considering how awesome the food is. Not to mention the staff is so nice and I think the restaurants decorations are beautiful. This was my third time coming today and I had ordered the pesto without tomatoes and they accidentally gave me tomatoes without chicken, they noticed it they felt so bad and apologized a ton and ran back and made me a new bowl in what felt like maybe 5-10 minutes and then offered to give me the pasta without tomatoes for free to take home, I was shocked by how sweet they all were and I wasn’t upset about it at all either. 12/10, obsessed. Thank you for always giving me and my fiancee the best time 🥰

I’ve dined in here for lunch and also had pizza for takeout another time. Both times were delicious.

We’ve had the Toscana pasta and carbonara, as well as salad, and a pizza—one mushroom and pepperoni. I love the thinness on the crust, really good sauce, flavorful. The pepperoni forms little cups—so good. They use fresh mushrooms for pizza, thankfully. The pasta is always very well done. The Toscana pasta is so rich and creamy. The pasta is always perfectly cooked.

Everyone is really nice in there for lunch. Calling for takeout and pickup on a weekend evening was chaotic. I was on hold for a while. Someone came back in the phone and said “Uhhh heyyy!” They were having some kind of dancing that involved stomping, too, it was super loud over the phone. The young woman that took my order was really distracted, giggling/nervous, and a little odd. She sounded tipsy or high. It sounded like someone picked up the phone that didn’t even work there and took my order, actually. No idea what her name was. But I had her on speaker and my partner and I were looking at each other so confused after saying uhh heyyy and with her reactions to what we were ordering. We’d order something and she would “yep, soooounds great,” with just…the oddest demeanor. I can’t describe it. Not sarcastic, like maybe incredibly nervous while also laughing about it? That’s why I say it sounds like someone picked up the phone that worked there and handed it to a customer or a friend to take my order. Maybe a kitchen employee, not used to talking to customers on the phone? I don’t know.

There is zero direction when you get there at peak dinner time on the weekend. You’re just kind of squished at the front, waiting. No real hostess, so I waited a while behind someone maybe 5, they were taken to a seat, then no one came back. I waited about 6+ minutes and finally walked along the kitchen area and walked note trying to get the attention of servers but they were grabbing food and running while talking to other servers, then I walked along to the server station and asked about my takeout order and they helped me. There were a LOT of people working the dining area for such a small space and no one to seat people or tell them how long it’ll be out if they’re there for a pickup, so I’m taking a star off for atmosphere, it was very cramped on the weekend, plus with the dance floor. I don’t know how often they have those events. I took a star off for service due to the rush not being handled well and waiting a while on the phone and person.

I went on a different weekend, but for lunch, and it was very relaxed and there weren’t as many people. They have a fresh rose at your table and beautiful indoor plants. It’s gorgeous inside. I’d just personally avoid it on a weekend evening or if there will be a live performer, honestly.

Everything was so delicious. The best pasta I've had in my life. My toddler ate half of her pizza, my husband loved his raviolis. I had the creamy pesto and it was out of this world. The cheese plate was delicious and unique. The Aff
ogato was really really good. The chocolate cake was amazing. We will for sure come back. 100% recommend eating here.

Hands down the best salads, pizza, and atmosphere Compliments to the chefs! But what really makes this place magical are 4 incredibly hard working, charming, kind, beautiful souls. Justin, Camille, Sarah, and the lovely Eve! We are always treated like family and couldn’t love these people more! Thank you so much ❤️

Took forever to get seated. They were busy. Once seated our server was great. Food was good but portions sizes were not. No bread for a starter. We did have a birthday in our party and they brought free dessert and sang happy birthday. Overall a good experience.

My absolute favorite local pizza joint! Staff are always amazing and kind! The pizza is hands down one of the best in the south sound. I need to try the pasta but it’s so hard to divert from the usual 😆.

Have a reservation because this place is awesome. Great food live dinner music and beautiful surroundings. Wheelchair accessible. Friendly options for those with food or gluten restrictions. Highly recommend from a picky eater

We had the best time at Pizzeria La Gitana. From the moment we walked in, the owner greeted us personally with the most friendly energy that made us feel immediately welcome. I’d mentioned in the reservation notes that it was a date night, and he went above and beyond, taking us to the private room in the back, dimming the lights, and letting us pick our table. He even joked that he wasn’t dressed nice enough to serve us and would have to go do dishes instead — it was such a fun, memorable touch!
Our server was wonderful — attentive without hovering, and always seemed to check in at just the right times. We tried one of their wines and loved it so much we ordered a whole bottle. The food was incredible — we customized their white pizza and it was perfection.
The entire atmosphere was cozy, romantic, and just effortlessly charming. We ended up staying right until closing, finishing our wine, and our server never once made us feel rushed. Truly one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in Olympia — can’t recommend this spot enough for a date or special night out!

I had a good experience here.

This place is a tiny bit upscale but it is worth the price.

I had the lunch Bolognese with side salad and the bread + marinara appetizer.

The pasta has a really good texture. It's cooked just right. You can tell they do their own noodles. The red sauce had good flavor with a tiny bit of spicyness.
