My partner and I were staying nearby and tried Molcajete for dinner based on all the great reviews. Service and the festive atmosphere did not disappoint, but the food and beverages seemed to emphasize quantity over quality. My camarones a la diabla were served on an impressively large plate, but the red sauce was disappointingly ketchup-like. The traditional mojito my partner ordered came in a similarly outsized glass, but tasted like it came from a mix, with the sparse mint...
Time to wake up, taste buds! The camarones a la diabla was delicious, nicely spiced, but not burning. The shrimp was cooked just right and obviously fresh (with a hint of crunch when you bite them). No scrimping with the shrimp... Tough to finish it, but I managed 😳. Brenda, the waitress was very pleasant. And I loved the outdoor seating that enabled me to bring my dog! I came by boat and the walk was only 20 minutes from the marina.
We stopped at Molcajete in Port Ludlow on our way home from the lavender festival in Sequim. This was my first time in the area. The people were very kind and accommodating of us. We were pup sitting for A family member it was hard to find a space where we could accommodate the various dietary needs of our family members, and also our little dog. (I called ahead to confirm).
