We are locals and we were treated very well. The lunch menu is limited and we ordered the pizza and a Caesar salad. The pizza was dry and not interesting. The salad was good. Service was good, but our server was not communicating well with the chef. First we were told pizza was not available, then order the chicken sandwich. Then suddenly the pizza became available. We usually think of the Fireside for an evening meal, and we will return.
The trouble that I had leaving this review downgraded my experience. Trouble is, I've been going to the Fireside for ten years, and I miss the value in previous years. The man who served our table was new. And I don't want him to get slammed because of this survey. He already knows how he failed as a server last night.
This used to be one of our favorite go to's to get out of town. It is just a short 30 minute drive and the setting at the Fireside was always amazing on the marina. We always enjoyed the meals, the service and the general ambience of the Inn. Over the last year, we have not had the same experiences dining here. We have brought friends and family up here, too, and although they enjoyed the setting, there was something missing. On this last visit, it took five minutes to be...
