The Bayview is consistently underrated in my opinion. It's just an old fashioned restaurant with pretty standard fare. As for service, I've sat at the counter recently and watched the staff at work, and I can say they appear dedicated and capable. Several things I like: their chicken fried steak, the Ruben, and the breakfasts. Vegetables are only OK, but soups can be pretty good. NA beers are available. There are terrific views of the bay, which is just outside the window....
Wonderful service and excellent food!\nGot the special today. A dill-soaked fried chicken breast sandwich. Delicious. \n\nAlso, love their fried oysters and fried fish. Light and crispy breading--not greasy (more panko style, less beer-battered/tempura style).
We had fish and chips and halibut and chips, GREAT marionberry pie for dessert. I walked across from Whidbey on the ferry and it was quick walk from the dock! Service was prompt even though they were busy.
