Had a very good Nicoise salad here while dining with friends. They come often. My first time here. The seared ahi on the salad was done just right, all the items for the salad were fresh, well prepared and delicious. I ate the whole thing and it was a generous portion.

A wonderful eatery that’s a little hard to find, but well worth the effort. Good service and simply excellent clam chowder. The fish and chips we had for lunch were also delicious.

There was a long waiting list and I was starving by the time we sat down. I got the El Portal burger and it was very good. I really liked how all the flavors blended together. Because of how hungry I was, I ordered it with an extra patty, but it really didn’t need it.

Had a decent steak, others had a variety of food--- comments were positive.
One little rub that I found irritating is that they demand a 3% service charge on top of what the hand held billing device shows is for an 18% tip.---- I never appreciate being gouged, regardless, and gratuity creep is annoying.
