We were seated behind a large party, so service was a little slower than usual, which was understandable. Most of the food came out great, though my wife's steak was overcooked. She mentioned it to the server, and they replaced it right away without any hesitation. The replacement steak was excellent. It did take a bit longer than expected, but they absolutely made it right. Also worth mentioning—the Old Fashioned was amazing. We really appreciated how everything was handled and will definitely be back.

This was our first time dining at HG Bistro. I found this gem by doing an internet search looking for restaurant that serves lamb. I ordered the New Zealand half rack of lamb with roasted brussels sprouts, and mashed potatoes. My wife ordered the Bistro Filet Medallions. For our appetizer we ordered crab rolls and bread and spread. For dessert we had layered crepe cake and caramel chocolate chip cookie alamode. Michelle was our server, and she did a phenomenal job hosting us to ensure that we had an amazing experience. HG Bistro prices are very reasonable. We have added this restaurant to our list of favorite places to dine, and plan to return very soon.

37 dollars cost of meal, was told it be ready in 15 20 minutes I showed up at the ten minute mark. When I entered the building I was not greeted, stood at the entrance for about 3 minutes before the bartender said something about if I had been helped yet. She went back said the food was being packed up. Steak dip w/fries and Mac and cheese
Steak dip was drenched in what I imagine is the liquid that’s the steaks either cooked or held in. Making it very difficult to dip in the like warm aus jus that was provided. Mac and cheese was greasy and grainy. Grainy due to how the cheese sauce is made. Greasy due to the way it’s made
Sandwich was bland and luke warm the fries absolutely cold and to add to that tasted like fish fry. They must have limited fryer capability because it was off putting.
Live next door so it’s not like the food sat long, it takes 3 minutes to get home from the restaurant. Needless to say we won’t be returning.

Food was good. Portions small. Green beans were sub par. They served me undercooked beans with the inedible stem parts still attached. Everything else was pretty good. Waitress forgot my wine order. I'd go again, but only for the appetizers.

I visited for lunch and found the service to be excellent. I enjoyed a substantial and flavorful salad. The establishment was very clean, and the staff were exceptionally kind and friendly. There was ample seating available, and plenty of parking, making it a highly recommended spot for either lunch or dinner.

My wife and I love this gem of a restaurant. Puyallup/Sumner has only a few upscale restaurants and this place fits for a "special" night dinner. Our server was attentive without being intrusive. The food was exceptional and the happy hour glasses of wine were generous.
