I was in Woodblock for dinner. A place I had saved since moving to the area. The food was ok, service was slow and we were seated next to the bathroom even though there were plenty of other seatings in the restaurant without ‘reserved’ sign on it - asian hate? I don’t know.

Their brunch is supposedly what they are known for so I might be back to give it another chance, but I hope the service is picked up before then.

Stopped by Woodblock toward the end of brunch on a Saturday. The place was pretty dead, which had us optimistic. Quiet restaurant, plenty of staff around, should be smooth sailing.

First little annoyance: we parked in the garage and noticed a list of businesses that validate parking. Woodblock isn't one of them. Not a dealbreaker, but at these prices it stood out.

Still not sure how I slept on this place for 10 years but glad that’s changed as it has become our (wife and I) regular spot for the last several months.

As a whiskey enthusiast, their selection is top notch. Local/regional beers rotate on the 10 taps, and the bar staff sling creative cocktails with house made ingredients.
