This is an amazing cafe to go to with a wonderful person who's traveled the world and knows coffee all around very well. Highly recommend per atmosphere & service.

I made a date last week with a woman from Renton. That is a bit far from my usual area, but it is good to get out of the neighborhood from time to time. She found The Rose Gift House and Coffee on Google Maps. We agreed to that place and a convenient time. I was worried about driving through Seattle, so I gave myself plenty of time to get there. As it turned out, traffic was not bad and I arrived with time to spare.
The coffee shop is tucked away in a building with several other businesses. I didn't spot it when I drove by, but I trusted Google Maps and pulled into the large parking lot next to the building. I used the extra time to study my date's online profile. When I had all the information down, I headed in. The location was much more noticeable from the sidewalk. Inside, it was clean and cozy. I explored a bit and found some nice booths in the back next to a store room.
I ordered a latte and while the chatty barista worked on it, my date came in. We added her drink to the order and chatted with the barista who was friends with the woman who started Macrina bakery. I had a hard time understanding her over the noise of steaming milk, but I got the impression that the Macrina bakery woman was very nice.
Our drinks were served in paper cups even though we said we were going to drink them there. I was too busy talking with my date to ask if they had real mugs. I wasn't really there for the coffee (it was a date after all) so the paper cup and the so-so coffee was not a big deal.
We took the booth in the back that was near the storage area, figuring that was better than the one next to the bathroom.
Like the coffee, the date was so-so. We talked about friends, family and travel experiences. She was nice, but no fireworks. I think that you have to kiss a lot of toads in online dating before you find your princess. She was not a toad, but I didn't feel like kissing her anyway.
We finished up our coffees, bundled up against the cold, said good-bye to the barista and headed off in separate directions.

They dont have beignets, but the place is awesome!! Barrista (owner?) Was super friendly and explained the beignet situation and recommended a good spot. Ordered a vanilla latte, I noticed the large came with 4 shots and was only 5.50! She also asked if I used alternate dairy; I don't, but it was thoughtful. Coffee is great; if they had a drive through I'd probably be here every day.

Closed when we arrived which was hugely inconvenient since their hours weren't updated and we went out of our way to visit.

One of the best cups of coffee I've had in awhile. The barista was very welcoming! Tried the 3rd Street Vanilla Latte and it was so delicious and creamy with a natural vanilla flavor. Their coffee is very smooth not bitter and acidic. They also have holiday themed coffees. I love that they feature gifts from local artists and you can tell it's a community coffee shop where everyone seems to know everyone! Will def be back!

Very friendly owner and staff. Coffee is good but can be inconsistent. Made up for by the atmosphere imo.

This coffee shop is fantastic. The people are always friendly, and the specialty drinks are creative and delicious. I'm a big fan of floral flavors and love the wildflower latte. They also sell some adorable pins and stickers, and have a perfect balance of airy and cozy, funky and tidy. I've visited all the coffee shops in the neighborhood, and this one is my favorite (although all of them were good).
