Lots of people but no service. Walked in and no one even acknowledged we were there, we stood in front of the cashier and she just walked passed us with a bag of trash. So we just walked out.

Cute cozy spot, reminds me of Barnes & Noble first time here and we tried their coffee and as much as we wanted to enjoy it unfortunately it wasn’t good 😩 it tasted bitter.
I don’t appreciate it when coffee places take political sides/ stands. This place does unfortunately.
The place is very nice and cozy, definitely has a charming atmosphere, but unfortunately, the coffee was a letdown. I’ll admit, my taste buds are more accustomed to a stronger, fuller-flavored coffee, and this is just my honest opinion. Many people may highly regard this coffee shop, but as the saying goes: “to each their own.”
I ordered a Hazelnut Latte and my friend got a Cappuccino, but both drinks tasted like watered-down coffee with very little flavor. There was no richness or depth, just a weak, almost bland brew that didn’t do justice to what a proper espresso-based drink should be.
I enjoy visiting different cafés that typically use medium roast beans grown on the island of Puerto Rico or from nearby regions like Colombia. The coffee I’m used to back home is bold but smooth, with a naturally sweet aroma and flavor. Notes of caramel, cocoa, or light fruit are balanced and never bitter. It’s the kind of cup that makes you pause and hope it never ends.
Thanks for your professional and kind response to my review. While this visit didn’t quite reflect the experience I look for when drinking coffee, I truly appreciated the warm environment and hope to give the café another try in the future.
Great little cafe with a variety of food and drink options. Staff was very friendly. The food was good, and the cake batter bites were delicious!
We visited for the first time recently, for a pinball release tournament for the new D&D machine. The pinball tourney was super fun! It’s also connected to a board game and bookstore - basically all my favorite things under one roof!
First time at Caterpillar Cafe
The vibe is super welcoming, laid-back, and a cool place to gather. Loved the outdoor seating and the fact they offer Varietal beer!
The woman who helped me was friendly and gave a great drink recommendation (the half-sweet Lotus was perfect). I ordered the PB&J panini, not realizing it’s served cold 🤷🏾♀️ ($10 for a cold PB&J 😂) would’ve appreciated a clearer description on the menu. She offered a refund, which was kind, but when I returned to the counter, I was just handed the money back without being asked if I wanted to try something else. It felt like a missed opportunity to turn the situation around. I’ll probably skip the cafe for food and stick with the lotus drink can’t remember the name but it was green and delicious 😋
Best little Cafe in all of Richland. Check out the records or Adventures Underground. Baristas there are passionate about their craft and great conversationalists.
Fun and unusually large selection of loose leaf tea. Service was great and low-effort, the environment was so fun and pleasant. I’ll be going back the next time in town.
Cool place. Will return. Food is simple, but way overpriced ($10 for a very plain grillcheese sandwich with no side) and pepsi with no refills is a bummer. I will return for the other things the place offers.

We ordered our food and waited for 45 minutes expecting it to be out but they kept standing around. Come to find out the two people who were working never even started our food. The sweet person who was on the next shift told me the food should’ve been out in 15 minutes. They then made the food, but we ended up waiting a whole hour. This isn’t a place I could see myself returning to because of this experience, and I don’t know if I would recommend it to others. It’s a nice place to hang out with friends, but whatever you do don’t order the food.
