I was having an ass-crack morning. Running on 4 hours of sleep, bus was 20 minutes late, the looming threat of in-laws coming to stay at my house later that evening. I stumble into this place half awake, knowing I can count on their lattes and pastries to resurrect me enough to complete my wage-slave duties for the day. This is a glimmering gem of a coffee shop associated with the Fairmont Seattle. Makenna and Eric, the baristas, are the BEST! They were both so kind, congenial and aiming to please each and every guest who came in. A quick chat 2 mornings in a row got our days in Seattle off to such a wonderful start! The coffee and pastries were delicious as well. I hope their management realizes what wonderful staff they have and that they are recognized financially for their hard work!
Delicious coffee and great food, but outstanding customer service. Shoutout to Makenna who overheard a coworker and I talking about having a really hard week. She comped our coffees and brought us some delicious savory pastries for free as well (we insisted on buying a cookie). Truly such a kind gesture to help us turn our days around. Give this woman a raise. We will definitely be back.
