Overpriced. Bad wine selection. There are much better coffee and matcha places in the neighborhood than this one. Don’t recommend :/

I would not recommend getting the iced strawberry matcha special. The matcha was clumpy and tasteless.

Anchorship Coffee is a staple in the Ballard neighborhood, and I've been coming here for years. One of my favorite things, especially in the summer, is their coffee slushy—it’s absolutely amazing. I’m not usually a fan of cold coffee, but this has definitely changed my perspective.

The staff is generally friendly, though some are more personable than others. I actually like that diversity in energy, though. Growing up in Ballard, which was once a neighborhood full of sailors and had a rougher edge, the staff here often reminds me of that nostalgic old Ballard feeling. That’s not to say they’re rude, quite the opposite. There's just a certain charm in the way they interact that reminds me of the area’s past.

My only complaint is that the prices have risen significantly. An 8oz latte with a pastry or other baked good can run up to $12 before tip, which feels a bit steeper than other spots in the neighborhood. Thus, I've gone from once a week here to about once a month as a treat.

Lovely coffee bar that emanates the soul of Seattle. Service is friendly and laid back, coffee is very good and the burritos are surprisingly tasty and well-made. Cozy seating and a warm, inviting atmosphere make this a wonderful asset to Ballard.

Very cozy spot - perfect winter day nook! Yummy food options and the coffee was phenomenal. Service was fast but personable. Nice loft set up with contributes to the overall atmosphere. Small spot upstairs though so watch your head on the way up. Would and will come back again and again!

A Sunday staple for us. I usually get a vanilla latte, which always hits the spot. I have noticed depending on the barista the latte can be hit or miss. Always friendly and quick service and lovely spot. The wine shop also has great options if you are in the market for a bottle.

It's very atmospheric and charming. We ordered a matcha pistachio latte and a regular cup of hot Americano. It wasn't particularly amazing, but it was a great experience!

Really delicious coffee and relaxing seating area to read, work, or visit with friends. Pick up a bottle of wine to serve with dinner or dessert from the extensive cellar that includes many non alcohol options.

This is a charming coffee shop that also has an interesting assortment of bottles of wine from various areas for sale (check out the vermouth varieties from Spain). My go to, regular drip coffee, was very good, and triple shot vanilla latte was also smooth and excellent. Artsy/hip area (clean and safe) to walk around, too. Very friendly service with a local vibe. Nice, relaxing place to sit and sip, or visit with others. Worth the visit.

I love this place because their baked goods are ten stars, and the coffee is usually good.

I'm docking a star for some customer service stuff, as follows:

The manager insists on making customers who bring their own mugs pour the coffee from a ceramic mug into their own mug over a trash can. She insists this is more sanitary, saves work, and that all the coffee shops are doing it. I frequent at least ten such establishments around Ballard and have never once seen this. To me (I do have an MD) it seems to offer no sanitation benefit (vs pouring from their carafe into the mug), wastes time/energy/money having to wash and handle ceramic mugs, and creates an awkward, messy, and confusing task for customers to perform, sloshing coffee from a mug into their mug over a trash can.

We had another barista who, despite our request for extra-hot lattes, gave us both bathwater-warm-at-most lattes. I reached out to them on fbm just to mention that this barista might need some training tips. I received no reply. No biggie but... you can see why the customer service aspect warrants a docked star.

The Mocha I had was very impressive, brewed with the espresso blend roasted by the Kuma Coffee Roasters. Though I have been a fan of this roasters for several years, I had never tasted their espresso blend (or any other blends). They also have very impressive selections of wines from all over the world for retail. Has anyone had a wine from Slovania? If they were to offer pour over, I would rate this place 5 stars.

Excellent first impressions. Kuma coffee is a good sign the shop is good, and proved true again. Well poured shots, rad art, and an enormous selection of alcohol for those that partake. The space is quirky yet has wheelchair access to the 2nd level by way of a lift. Seating area is quiet and perfect for reading/writing/drawing. Will be back here 100%

3.5 stars actually. Here’s why:Good enough espresso, but1) no options to get your coffee drink in a porcelain cup to drink there. Instead it’s all to go cups that end up in the landfill. Bummer.2) menu doesn’t have prices on them. You don’t know the cost of what you’re ordering until you get the iPad flipped in your direction requesting a 25% tip. 2 cortados and a cookie? $15.50 out the door. mehThe extra half star because the coffee was good. Oh, and if you’re into bottles of wine that are $30-40, you may really dig this place. This place is cute however, the upstairs nook seems rad, but if you are able to offer your coffees served in porcelain cups for there, your classiness level goes up, the middle finger to the earth goes down, and you get more stars on google. and for f sake, tell us what things cost before ordering

Anchored Ship Coffee Bar is easy to miss if you’re not paying attention, but it’s worth a stop if you’re in Ballard. The storefront is tiny, as is the coffee bar, but where it really shines is surprisingly the amazing selection of bottled wines they sell…I loved there were description cards for just about all of the wines offered - so helpful! - and chilled bottles also available at the front of the cafe. (This would be a great place to stop by and grab a special bottle for a hostess gift or celebration!) ?As for the coffee, we got a hazelnut mocha and an oat milk cardamom latte, which we enjoyed upstairs in the cozy loft area. Since we needed a snack, we ordered the brownie and “valentine” (a homemade pop-tart with jam and turbinado sugar) - we liked both of these too.
