Yeah, unfortunately I agree with the previous reviewer who was BIPOC— super unfriendly.I came here twice, thinking that maybe he just had an off day but the guy was so rude. He insisted that he price out the scarves for me first before letting me even see what they’re like. Then he ignored me and anything I had to say and kept bragging about how he extracts the best silks from Japan. Condescending and disrespectful. It’s unfortunate since there are some beautiful things in the shop, but Im not going to want to have something that reminds me of this rude experience.

I love this coffee shop. I’ve since moved from Seattle, but every time I’m back in town I plan to come here. The owner is like an Anthropologist, having traveled the world collecting treasures to sell in the shop, telling wild stories from his many adventures. Oh, and the coffee is good too! It’s a gem!

Amazing handcrafted kimonos and other items from Japan. Not expensive at all! But incredible materials and something for everybody. It truly is one of a kind iconic Seattle.

Please stay away if you are BIPOC, it will save you the time of being disrespected like I just experienced.. the worker man literally ignored me. It's a sign that blocks you from entering when you walk in that says please ask to enter(we are no longer a coffeehouse*). He saw me then continued to be in his own little world. Just know you won't get a cent out of me

An eclectic collection of Japanese antiques. Ranging from silk kimonos to Buddhist statues, this little store and its delightful owner are hidden gems in Seattle's downtown.

Walked into the store today and the entrance was blocked off with a barrier and sign that said to wait to be let in. The worker was on the phone and just looked at us and didn’t say anything, we waited about 5 minutes and then finally left.

I have been to this store on two occassions. Each time I have come away with a new appreciation for the beauty of Japanese textile art and design. My first trip, last year, I purchased two Obi's and have worn them comfortably as a focal art to wear.Last week I purchased a silk Shibori jacket. Really beautiful and well fitted. The highlight of my visit is talking with proprieter Ronald Crawford who was willing to engage in the history and of both of these items which made the shopping experience even more special.I live in Marin County and look forward to another visit next year.

This is the best coffee in Seattle, served by a wonderful man in an incredible setting. Must visit for anyone who loves coffee, art, and life. A true unique gem and an echo of the spirit this city use to possess, when people had time to appreciate the finer things.
