We are becoming regulars at Assaggio. Our latest dinner was a couple of days before Valentine's Day. I cannot praise the staff enough. Warm, welcoming...truly like family. My Blood Orange Cosmopolitan was served in a vintage cut glass coupe. Extraordinary. We loved the Arancini for starters. So fresh, tender with a light crisp. My husband enjoyed the Penne Vodka and I had the Vincigrasse, a beautiful white lasagna with Italian sausage and Bechamel sauce. The pasta sheets were so fresh and delicate. Absolute perfection. My husband and I shared the Zepolle for dessert. We can't seem to order anything different because it's exquisite. We simply adore Assaggio.

Went here last night. Service was fantastic. I mean *fantastic* between the front of house and our server we were more than taken care of. Staff is friendly, responsive, takes initiative on refilling drinks. Ordered the pollo Marsala for my friend, and I got the salmon. That was the best salmon I have ever had. The sear was perfect. The mashed potatoes exquisite.
You know in those cooking shows where they talk about honoring the animal by cooking it and celebrating it? I felt that. Had a bite of the Pollo Marsala (I don't like mushrooms, texture thing) but holy smokes that was AMAZING.
Drinks were delicious, had two non alcoholic beverages (Paradise birds), and even had the special Valentine's Day dessert. I'm glad we ordered the dessert because it complimented one of the best sit down meals I've ever had. Atmosphere was lively but not overly loud.

I felt justified with the price, for the service and experience and quality of food. Thank you for making room for a drop in on presumably one of the busiest nights of the year. I told you I'd give you a review afterwards, and this is me holding to my word.

Definitely will be back. This is how you earn return customers- even those who live over a hundred miles away.

Hands down my favorite Italian in Seattle. It’ll transport you to Italy instantly. Heart felt food and service, family oriented, and try the gnocchi! You won’t be disappointed!!

Small and service was fine but not very good. Was sat right next to the kitchen. Overall very good food with average service and ambiance.

I really wanted to love this spot because the atmosphere is fantastic—it has a great energy and the decor is spot on. It’s also worth mentioning that the staff was very accommodating when it came to splitting the bill for our group, which is usually a headache elsewhere.
However, the actual dining experience left a lot to be desired. The service felt incredibly rushed; it seemed like the staff was solely focused on shoveling food out of the kitchen as fast as possible rather than letting us actually enjoy the evening.
As for the food, the Carbonara was a major letdown. The meat had a very strange, unappealing texture—it honestly seemed like it had been boiled rather than crisped up, which is definitely not what you want in a traditional pasta dish. It’s a shame when the setting is this nice but the main event misses the mark so significantly.

Assaggio never misses. Excellent service, pacing of drinks, apps and meal. Not rushed and made to feel right at home. Can't recommend highly enough!

I heard so many positive things about this restaurant! So naturally, when I flew into Seattle I just had to stop by and have a taste! We were greeted by Francesa, who is the daughter of the owner. I must say, she is the MOST sweetest, and friendliest hostess I've ever encountered! She sat us in a cozy corner booth and we were so excited to try the homemade pasta dishes that we heard so much about! To our HORROR, we were given a waiter who had NO CUSTOMER SERVICE skills whatsoever! There was no greeting or introduction or smile. He just stood there with his pen and writing pad and stared at us!! Like we are supposed assume hes awaiting to take our order. When we got served our delicious meals, he NEVER asked , how is everything or if he can get us anything else. NOTHING. Although the bus boys who refilled our waters were very gracious and friendly! After we finished our meals, the waiter practically tossed the dessert menus on the table and once again said NOTHING and walked away.
His abrupt and sassy attitude really killed it for us. My friend and I have worked in the customer service industry for over 40 years,
And we expected top notch service from this place. Needless to say, we were greatly disappointed. He desperately NEEDS to go back to training or they need to use him as a dishwasher. Get him off the Frontline, away from customers immediately.
I read your reviews and noticed within the last 6 months there ARE some negative comments about a waiter who ruined their experience at your highly rated restaurant.
I am sure it was the same one who served us. Those negative reviews described him perfectly!!! After checking my receipt, it was CHET who served us.
The Italian dishes, the ambiance of the restaurant and FRANCESCA were the BEST about Assagios. It was our first visit there.
I MAY return, but I will NOT be served by CHET. I want a better experience.
Wouldn't you?

Although the menu seems like that of any other Italian restaurant, Assagio is anything but. There were 5 of us and everyone loved their food. Alessandro was a terrific server and helped make it a great experience. We'll definitely be back!

First time here as a recent transplant and it was outstanding. The food was top notch, the service was incredible and they got us in immediately at our reservation time even though the restaurant and waiting room was packed. Really enjoyed dining here and will be definitely going back. Better for special occasions, rather than casual dining.

My partner and I enjoyed our anniversary dinner. The service was polite and checked in, but did not helicopter over us, which we preferred.

Great service! We got the salmon and the perch with the pear salad. Salmon was a little overcooked but flavor was there. Tartufo was so-so.

We absolutely LOVE Assaggio Ristorante! The food is superb. It would have been all five's if it was not for the waiter. Absolutely awful service. We felt unseen (hr would literally avoid eye contact with our table as he rushed by). I believe it was the owner and his daughter (maybe) that was the highlight of the night in addition to the food. They both were warm and welcoming and just a delight.

We had to literally beg our waiter to acknowledge us after we were seated (20 minutes later) he begrudgingly took our drink orders. We begged to put in appetizers at the same time. We didn't get another acknowledgment from him until 39 minutes later when we literally grabbed his arm while he was passing to ask to place our dinner order.

I would highly recommend Assaggio for the food and atmosphere but the waiter ruined our experience.

Francesca,Antonio, and now that Mario is home for a bit—are the consummate hosts. No detail is overlooked, the cocktails and the food are perfect. Assaggio is a Seattle classic for a reason. We always treasure our dinners there. Thank you, Assaggio! Love, Mike and Kelly
