When we walked into Bar Sur Mer ( a month ago), the vibe was fantastic. The place had a really nice atmosphere, the food was great, and the drinks were on point. Overall, we were really enjoying the ambiance.
The downside was the service from the particular lady who served us. It wasn’t busy at all, but when we asked her to switch to a more comfortable seating area, she gave us a look that made us feel like we were bothering her. A little friendliness would have made a big difference. (we asked to change the seat before ordering just to clarify things)

Mediocre tapas. Expensive so its fair to have high expectations. Wont go back for food drinks good but $16 plus mandatory 23% pretty ridiculous.

I like that they experiment with fusion dishes, but this time it didn’t quite work for me… The patatas bravas tasted only of lemon, although the octopus was very good. The accompanying salad, however, wasn’t great. I left with mixed feelings… maybe my expectations were just too high.

Excellent date night place! Service was attentive, but not overbearing, food was excellent (Shout out to the oysters, octopus, and brûlée) and the ambience was relaxing, with enough design and elegance to provide structure, but not stuffiness.

First time finally trying Bar Sur Mer. Was just the perfect evening for happy hour cocktails and small plates of food. Our server was outstanding and suggested great items to try. Don't skip the little potatoes, the mushrooms or the oysters. I want to go back and try more! The cocktails were creative and well balanced. So much to go back for! Loved it all.

Two friends and I enjoyed a Mamas' Night Out at Bar Sur Mer on a recent Thursday evening. The restaurant/bar feels a bit elevated, which is a nice break from our chaotic lives as mothers to very young kiddos. One friend tried orange wine for the first time and was a big fan (I've tried many an orange wine and have had 50/50 luck, but I tasted hers and I can vouch, it was delicious!), my other friend enjoyed a couple glasses of white wine, and I really enjoyed the unique flavors of two cocktails: Siren's Song (it is LIME green...so unexpected and fun) and Yellow Bell-Bottoms (includes yellow bell pepper...so crisp and refreshing). We shared the Seawolf Baguette, Wood-Fired Hongos (out-of-this world mushrooms...sweet, tangy, and a tiny hint of heat), and the Charred Mediterranean Octopus. One friend has been working hard lately to expand her palate, and this was a great opportunity for her to try some new things among safe company :) Our waiter was an absolute joy. The restaurant wasn't too full, but it should have been more full based on the delicious taste and presentation of the food and drinks! Looking forward to returning soon! 12/10 recommend.

This was our second time at Bar Sur Mer and it was amazing! The first time we just had the cocktails, and wow they were incredible. The second time we tried the food too and it was so good! We recommend the lamb, the jamon chips, and the basque cheese cake.

I love dining at this beautiful place! We stopped here for an early dinner. It's great for happy hour in Greenwood, discounted small plates with cocktail and wine specials. The drinks and wine selection are very good, perfectly curated, and the service is top notch! Josiah and Sarah are super on top of making sure we had water and drinks and clearing our plates when necessary. We ordered the baguette with chive and garlic butter, the cod collars, the lamb crépinette, the manila clams, the mushrooms, the octopus, and the sardines. Everything was delicious, perfectly seasoned and had great combinations of flavors. For dessert, we had espresso martinis and the Manchego cheese with anise olive oil crackers, chocolate covered almonds, and quince jam. Will definitely be back again to try more items on the menu!
