I wonder if people are aware your business is hosted on the "anti-woke" platform Public Square. You can keep your bigot pastries thanks.

This a cozy little place in Madrona, acting as a nice hole in the wall cafe to chill and get a nice cup of coffee. I especially liked their selection of confectionary items displayed in the front.

Overall, it’s a nice regional cafe with about average coffee.

The menu has many items which are out? The service is incredibly slow. It took several minutes until someone arrived at the counter and then a very long time until my food was ready. Feel like this spot is in a slow decline.

Dirty floors, slow service despite multiple staff only on really doing anything. Price point is way off. The audacity to charge $14 for a sandwich that is evidently soggy and not toasted.

The coffee is ok, nothing exceptional but it has nice pastries and the staff are friendly. Sometimes there is to wait though. Very nice atmosphere though, it makes you want to go in.

Uncooked pastry. Not really worth the price. Unfriendly staff. Will not be coming back

Ordered a breakfast sandwich to go, heated up. The edges were warm, the center was frozen. Like actually frozen. $12 for a tiny frozen breakfast sandwich is a joke.

This place has dropped off hard. Went today, 3 employees with only one working. No greeting, no warmness. Just what can i get you. Friend waited 25 mins for T with nearly empty store. On a slow day the floor was littered with leaves, half tables were dirty. Outdoor patio was in disarray with an overturned trash can near alley and literally nothing had been wiped down, coffee stains everywhere.
Their food safety rating is down to merely 'good' now as well. Until they get people trained and caring about their jobs and the store, I wont be back

I don't usually post bad reviews, but feel like I have to say something about the experience I had here last week. I saw some really troubling behavior from someone I assume to be a manager.

I overheard her being quite cruel to one of her coworkers (employees?), openly criticizing them for trivial aspects of their performance, and from my perspective seeming to enjoy their discomfort. I also heard her making rude comments about me to another coworker, which is really unprofessional and frankly a little hurtful.

I'm sure most of the people who work here are perfectly lovely, but I can't stand it when I see people abuse positions of authority.

Pleasant place for coffee and pastry or lunch. I had a very tasty baguette with turkey and pickled onion. Also a snickerdoodle cookie. Recommend both and recommend this place. Both outdoor and indoor tables are available.

As someone who isn’t religious, I find reading the Serenity Prayer before entering this restaurant helps me brace for what lies ahead.

It amazes me that nearly every visit to this establishment involves a cascade of service failures at almost every point. Here’s a rundown of a typical visit:

When you arrive, it’s not uncommon to find a couple of employees casually chatting at the register. They’ll often ignore you as if you’re a rando who just walked up to them at their party.

Once they finally acknowledge your presence and begin interacting, there are rare moments when they are genuinely nice and helpful. However, more often than not, they seem to wish you were dead and had never left your house.

Prepare yourself for the likelihood that they’ll be out of at least one or two menu items, even early in the day. When you order these items, they’ll act annoyed and point out a sign way down there in the display case that you apparently missed.

As your order starts to come out, you might need to wait for the staff to finish their conversation about last night’s events before you can politely request a to-go bag for your multiple boxes.

After some more time your drinks will come out.

Finally, you'll likely have to wait once again for the employees to finish their story before reminding them about the pastry you ordered.

The food is good, but be prepared to roll with the punches, advocate for your order, and endure some some abuse.

"SERENITY NOW!"

Ordered a cold and a hot chai latte for my partner and I. They were the most flavorless, watery chai lattes I’ve ever had… absolutely not worth it.

Pricey but worth it imo. Their shortbread cookie (ever so soft and buttery—heaven) and kouign amann (pictured) are out of this world !

Terrible service and tiny portions for $$. I worked service industry for a long time and totally get it when people have a bad day, but the cashier obviously didn’t want me there and was unpleasant and curt. I ordered a croissant sandwich (~13$) and a beet salad (~$17) and they were both very small portions. Yummy for sure, but tiny; it didn’t feel worth it. Pretty disappointing.
