As a Black person who's new to the city, I'll be honest: Capitol Hill's gay bar scene had me feeling like an outsider more often than not. CCs changed that. The vibe here is inclusive in a way that actually means something — not performative, not selective. People here are just... themselves. Nobody trying too hard to be something or prove something....

I’ve been a regular here for about 7 years, from the “we’ll never charge a cover” era to the current cover charge with DJ nights and touring Flex events. Through all the changes, it’s still one of the most affordable and consistent neighborhood bars on the hill.
