Amazing beers! Try one of their rotating IPAs and a West Coast IPA if they have it available. And anything on the side-pull!
This establishment prides itself on being exclusive and pretentious, which is frustrating enough. However, their refusal to provide free samples feels particularly unreasonable in a market where a “try-before-you-buy” approach is both standard and customer-friendly. While I can appreciate a business model focused on delivering quality and ensuring every purchase counts, the lack of sampling undermines their claim to excellence. How can they expect customers to confidently invest in their offerings without allowing a taste of what sets them apart? It feels more like arrogance than a thoughtful or customer-centric policy.
P.S.: Not a boomer, but a Ballard local who makes a confident choice in avoiding this brewery any time they crave a decent beer.
Parking: You can park along the street, but if it's a nice day, you'll probably have to use a paid lot.

Every time I come here there are brand new beers, hardly ever any repeats. As a normal human who drinks beer I order them without tasting them first and enjoy them immensely.
No tasters
Have been here a few times and tried a number of beers of various styles. I haven't been impressed and likely won't give them any more tries. The beers I've had have been just okay at best - nothing special or interesting that I've come to expect from a good microbrewery. They fall flat in taste very quickly and feel one-note. Sadly, they don't allow tasters or flights, so you're left with drinking a full beer that you're potentially not going to enjoy. The service hasn't really been welcoming or friendly either. They have a food truck with pretty good food, but the one time I ordered food there it took over an hour (not exaggerating) for it to be ready. I like their indoor-outdoor space and when it's busy there's a great energy, but there are so many other options around with much better beer and service.
This is the best beer in

A neat little hideaway with great beer (and great beer names).
Great little beer garden w excellent beer and permanent dumpling food truck.
Beer scene advice, delivered at warp speed… 😧🍺🇺🇸

Perfectly decent spot for a pint, with some great beers on tap. However they don’t do tasters (even if it is just you and one other table). Feel like that defeats the point of going to a microbrewery. They put so much effort into these little flavor guides but a lot of that could be solved if you let people taste a sip of beer beforehand.
The food truck was also really below average so that doesn’t help. Overall if you know what beer you want and you’re not too hungry I would recommend!
This Cloudburst location is just as great as the other downtown location in Seattle. Beers were solid, service awesome, and the space was buzzing with energy. Will be back!
I really want to love this brewery because the beer is so damn good. If I was grading this on beer alone it would be an easy 5 stars. Some of the best IPAs you can get anywhere. However it comes at a cost. When I visit a brewery (200+ and counting) I have come to expect a certain Brewery Vibe with great service and people that are just happy be together drinking craft beer. On my three visits to Cloudburst I have left disappointed. Not by the beer (which is always excellent) but by very poor service.
Every time I have been there I feel a sense of arrogance from the severs who do not have the friendly welcoming attitude that I have come to expect from a brewery. Cloudburst does not sell flights or give tasters of their beers, which although very rare is their right to do so. What I am troubled by though, is the condescending manner in which the servers treat their customers; as if they don’t even really want us there. I have experienced this same attitude every time I have been there by multiple bartenders.
Sadly, I have made the decision that I will not visit Cloudburst on my next visits to Seattle since there are so many other excellent breweries that have exceptional beer, service and vibe. Georgetown, Freemont and Ruben’s will all give you a much better brewery experience than Cloudburst will.
Great covered patio with even better beer, Cloudburst is one of Seattle’s best breweries and this location is right in the heart of Ballard.
Walked in after reading Google reviews and was trying to decide between 2 of the 6 IPAs they had on tap. Asked for samples of the 2 I was undecided on and was told they don’t give samples. When I asked them why, they looked at me and said “we don’t give away free beer.” I guess this is a first for me at any brewery. Walked out and went elsewhere.
EDIT: looks like the owner has decided to respond using a traditional “double down” strategy not only confirming they don’t give out samples (a true first for me in any brewery I’ve been to) but also making fun of my review and painting me as a person looking for “free beer.” This has shown me what kind of business they choose to run, so thank you owner of Cloudburst, I’m very glad I didn’t support your establishment today. I am reviewing your business, not your beer. With the profit margins of craft beer, making your indecisive customers happy by giving them an ounce of beer to help them make a decision between two IPAs isn’t going to bankrupt you.
How you decide to conduct yourself now, is true sign of who you are as an owner. Thank you for letting me know.
