This place is never open anymore. Just 12 hours a week. Don't shop there. It has to to be a tax scam or some other illegal operation. Nobody does this. 12 hours a week? They should surrender their lease and let a decent local business operate in this thriving community. Enough!

I placed an order for Thanksgiving and, while doing so, inquired about a past holiday item that I did not see on the current menu. The manager said she would speak with the baker and get back to me. They ended up being able to accommodate my request, which was a wonderful surprise.

This act of kindness will not go unnoticed at the table and will add to the enjoyment of Thanksgiving. I am grateful for their consideration, ability, and quality of their products.

I look for any excuse to stop into this bakery. They do everything so well. From their baguettes to full loaves to fresh hand pies to the best ham & cheese croissant I’ve ever had in my life. They just get it here. Plus, Columbia City is charming any time of year. A true gem on the southside.

I was looking for yummy treats for my husband’s birthday and I was happy to have found this bakery! I got the lemon merengue, cinnamon roll and the staff graciously added a peanut butter cookie (my husband’s favorite kind). We enjoyed all of them!
The staff were also super sweet! Thanks again!

Stopped by this bakery to grab some lunch with my partner. Staff was nice and helpful. We grabbed a cold sandwich, a savory bread pudding, cinnamon roll, pistachio snail, and a Danish. The cold sandwich was delicious!! Simply but so flavorful! The focaccia bread was baked perfectly, light and airy. My partner enjoyed his savory bread pudding as well. The pistachio snail was very light flavored, but the baked element was perfection. The Danish was a pear Danish. Again, light flavor but delicious. The cinnamon roll also, not overly sweet. We REALLY enjoyed everything we got from Columbia City Bakery. Cannot recommend them enough! I also cannot wait to go back and try more!

Columbia City Bakery is only opened Thursday to Saturday (honestly, good for them!). They have online pre-orders so you can order a few days before they open or order their hot sandwiches same day.

Everything is fresh baked and it’s always exciting to see what new baked goods they have each week, as some of the items on the menu rotate weekly or seasonally. Here are some of my favorites:
* The chorizo and mushroom hand pie are both excellent and comes out piping hot. If you had to choose, I prefer the chorizo.
* Shortbread cookies are the best I’ve ever had, whether the weekly flavor is lime zest, coconut, or my favorite, pistachio (it’s nutty!).
* Ham sandwich on ficelle
* Alaska breakfast sandwich
* Pretzel knots: Ask for their mustard for a perfect pairing
* Lemon meringue pie: The crust is perfect!

They also sell Herkimer beans and frozen pie dough, which are both amazing. I also love the coffee here.

It’s also fully opened now (instead of just a walk up window), so this is a great place to get some work done.

Hand pies, cheese dips, and croissants were all delicious. Wish they were open more days during the week

I loved this place and used to come in and have a coffee and pastries with my kids but now after COVID it's a shell of their former self. You cannot come in and sit anymore and the hours are different than before. They pretty much lost my business and it's very sad. I hope they reconsider and be like they were before the pandemic.

Delicious local bakery in the Columbia City neighborhood. I bought chocolate chip and peanut butter cookies this visit. The chocolate chip cookies are baked with walnuts and toffee. Delicious! They have lots of other tasty options including scones, croissants, sandwiches, and coffee.

I’ve been here a few times and everything they make is really good. The stars of the show so far are the broccolini hand pie and the brownie. The sandwiches have really good bread and a very nice texture when heated.

It’s a wonderful bread bakery, however Seattle desperately needs a desert & pastry bakery too.Someone?
